gooner4life
Emirates airline has signed a new 150 million pound (US$239 million) sponsorship deal with Arsenal the Dubai-based carrier’s name will appear on Arsenal shirts for an extra five years — through to the end of the 2018-2019 season. 1. MANCHESTER UNITED £55m (General Motors) (Around £45m from main shirt sponsorship with Chevrolet & another £10m from training kit sponsorship) 2.ARSENAL £27-30m(Emirates) (£27-30m because it also includes naming rights for 7 years, which currently are worth around £2-3m per season & from 2021-2028 will actually won't be worth that much money.) 3. BARCELONA £25m (Qatar Foundation) 4. BAYERN MUNICH £23.6m (Deutche Telekom) 5. LIVERPOOL £20m (Standard Chartered) 6. MANCHESTER CITY £20m (Etihad Airways) 7. SUNDERLAND £20m (Invest in Africa) 8. REAL MADRID £16.8m (Bwin) 9. CHELSEA £13.8m (Samsung) 10. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR £10m (Autonomy & Investec) 11. AC MILAN £10m (Emirates) 12. NEWCASTLE UNITED £10m (Virgin Money) I think Arsenal did very well in negotiating this deal & getting 2nd highest sponsorship deal after United even though we have not won something for 7 years. Also add to the fact that it is a relatively short duration deal of 5 years, it gives us an advantage to negotiate the deal again soon & hopefully with some more trophies added to the cabinet from now till then & we can get a much improved deal then. gooner4life
and how is that United's problem ? *wait for the inevitable conspiracy theory* Not implying any underlying conspiracy but it can be easily gathered from how Chevrolet reacted, that they don't think the deal was worth that much. But since the executive already made the mistake of completing the deal, they can't do anything other than firing that guy. So yes even though you have such a big deal right now, but it's more down to a mistake from sponsors' side rather than what United really can command. But anyways I think you do deserve a better deal than us for sure, but I don't think the gap should be that much, whether you sell the deal together with your training kit or not. I think that's a pretty reasonable conclusion from the above article about the GM executive.

gooner4life
I'm sorry, but Chelsea are an utter disgrace To implicate a referee in a racism row based on evidence so flimsy it turned out to be non-existent was a truly shocking misjudgment by the decision-makers at the club. Why hasn’t someone at Chelsea resigned this morning? At the BBC, bosses were clearing their desks when one politician was falsely accused of a repugnant crime. Or is it OK to say a professional match official is a racist — and then shrug and say ‘Oops’ when the charge is exposed as complete trash? No doubt a lawyer suggested Chelsea should avoid any apology for fear it might ‘compromise their legal position’. I wonder if it was the same lawyer who suggested they might have a case in the first place? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2237675/Chelsea-utter-disgrace-Mark-Clattenburg-non-apology--Des-Kelly.html#ixzz2D8yeX4I1 As I said yesterday for this club - "Form is temporary, LACK of class is permanent" Edited November 24, 2012 by gooner4life

Nemo
Not every club's history has started just a decade ago. ah. but we arent living in the history, now are we. any hoo, your antics describe my point perfectly. Quoting Jose: "I think he is one of these people who is a voyeur, There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea. It bothers me because the guy is speaking all the time. We never speak about them. You can do it when you are top and you have a big morale. When you are on game number 11 and you still can't win away from home, and when you are without Thierry Henry and he can't win a game, he should be worried about them. He's worried about us, he's always talking about us. It's Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea. I might be worried if my team made a defensive mistake. I shouldn't be worried about what Arsenal did at Tottenham. They are always speaking about the other families". Ah Jose !! That was SEVEN years ago in 05. Nice to see the spirit still lives on. Just look at his quotes regarding Mancini just a few days back or Fergies quotes about Benitez & vice versa. Everyone talks about other teams, no one can live in isolation. And Mourinho apologized later on for this comment if I am not mistaken.
