Pepe says Real Madrid has Europe running scared after their amazing signing spree.

"Other teams have reason to be scared," smiled Pepe, "because Kaka is an incredible player, as is Cristiano (Ronaldo).

"They're two great players, two great professionals who are ready to help the team. We welcome them in the dressing room with affection.

"Cristiano is nothing like the image people have of him. He is a hard worker and just likes to play football.

"Kaka already knows the greatness of Real Madrid - which he saw last night. Kaka will want to show everyone here what he can do."

Owen on verge of shock one-year deal with Man Utd

Free agent Michael Owen is on the verge of a shock move to Manchester United.

The former Newcastle United striker has agreed terms to a basic deal which would see him paid more as he performs.

It is believed the deal is worth £20,000 a week, some £90,000 less than what he was on with the Magpies, and includes performance-based bonuses.

Owen is set to undergo a medical which could take place as early as today.

That is fantastic... We can live with that... Performance based bonuses and pay as you play clause is very effective for a injury prone striker like him... Would be a good deal.

Plus @simmy, tell me one world class striker who'd wanna come to manutd. Most of the players are Madrid wannabes...

Im pretty sure I know a lot of more of Santa Cruz's flaws than his greatness. Hes somewhere between average and good and nowhere near top class.

JUST SAW THIS ON SOME OTHER FORUMS-

Early predictions for 2009/10

I predict that there will be several major occasions in which a refereeing decision is completely wrong! Everyone will say we need video replays/goal-line technology to reduce the number of errors that significantly affect games. FIFA will give some lame and weak reason for not adopting it.

The wage of the highest paid players in the Prem will again increase to unprecedented levels. The banks will have to borrow money from Premiership footballers!

Arsenal will have lots of players who mysteriously struggle to make a return from injury at the date publicly stated by Wenger.

Rafa and Fergie will have public rants/play mind-games through the media. Followers of LFC and MUFC will largely agree with everything their club manager has said and will continue this disagreement by proxy here at BS.

Mark Hughes will increasingly resemble Comical Ali in his press conferences where he explains how everything is under control and going according to plan despite being on course for less points than last year.

Mourinho will continue to alienate every non-Interista in Italy! He will now claim that he is an Extra-Special one!

Roman will say nothing but just loom menacingly in the background waiting to wield the axe over the increasingly under-pressure Ancelotti.

Arsenal fans will be outnumbered by the away fans by the Final whistle at every Prem Match at Ashburton Grove. Wenger will claim he did not see a controversial incident perpetrated by an Arsenal player. Arsenal fans will boo Diaby and Bendtner. Arshavin will say how he would love to play at Barca. Van Persie will lament how long it has been without trophies at Arsenal - he will claim he has not won a trophy in the timespan of 5 injuries.

The Press will continue to issue match reports on Spurs matches ghost-written by Harry Redknapp.

Jamie Redknapp will claim on Sky that his cousin Frank is a top, top player who is literally on fire!

Paul Scholes will win Player of Year despite being injured since the opening weekend. Man U fans will claim it was well deserved despite all of them claiming that Valencia is the best player in the country (and by definition Scholes) and much better than Tevez and C Ronaldo were.

Anderson will still fail to score a goal. Man U fans will be shouting at him to shoot everytime he gets the ball. The man in Row Z wll get very annoyed with the Brazilian sharpshooter.

Every 6 months Hicks and Gillett will refinance the loan they have for purchasing LFC. The papers will claim that LFC will have to stop playing at night in order to save on the electricity bill. Rafa will be praised for adopting Fergie's revolutionary new rotation methods.

Real Madrid will get knocked out of the CL in the 1st knockout stage. They will respond by sacking the manager as this always has worked in the past.

Mike Ashley resorts to putting NUFC up for sale on ebay. Dave Whelan laughs about this in the Press and in no way is bitter towards Mike Ashley.

Michael Owen buys the club for £16.5 million. He pays himself £120,000 a week. Viduka is appointed the fitness coach.

Harry Redknapp will sign Glenn Hoddle, Gascoigne and Klinsmann. Bent is now 17th choice striker behind Greaves.

Capello will be crowned the bestest manager ever after qualfying England for the World Cup. The tabloids will make puns on the word Fab and dismiss the hopes of Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Holland and Germany in South Africa.

Players will choose to sign for Burnley rather than the Old Firm.

Italian clubs will get eliminated from the CL by Russian clubs. Blatter will claim this must be investigated.

Joey Barton beats up the Queen and everyone agrees this is unacceptable except his current club who give him one last chance.

Steven Gerrard ends up owning the Texas Rangers.

Robinho ends up owning Royal Bank of Scotland.

Rooney gets sent off because he loses his temper after losing the coin toss. Berbatov looks unconcerned.

Garry Barry, Tevez and SWP get parts of the bench at Eastlands engraved with their names.

Wenger turns down the chance to sign Messi for Arsenal because he is deemed too old and his arrival would 'kill the esteem' of Eboue.

Chelsea get knocked out of the CL after having two men sent off after they attacked the Ref for giving a free-kick to the opposition. Ancelotti reads out a message to the cameras prepared in advance by his minders, Jaws and Oddjob. He is then marched off in the general direction of Roman's new volcano island research facility and is mysteriously never seen again. The next day Chelsea unveil Cappello as their new manager. When asked to comment, Mourinho reveals he is releasing a new perfume called 'Selflove'.

Referees will get respect from Fergie until Man U lose a match.

Aston Villa will be top by Christmas but bottom by May.

Hansen will use the phrase 'shocking defending' more times than the word 'commitmment'. Joe Cole will break the world record for saying the phrase 'You know' the most times in a single interview.

I cannot wait ..

if this is a pay as you play deal; it could only be good for us.

inspite of injuries he still scored 10 goals for the barcodes last season. IF he is injury free and gets some form he can still be a good 3rd striker. And with the World Cup around he would love to play well and stake a claim.

Also, gives Fergie a chance to nurture Macheda/ Welbeck into Premier League strikers in a year or two.

Looking forward to this deal.

Hope Madrid dont make a move for him!!! :duh:
