Owen on a free transfer is a master stroke guys... Lets not forget he managed to plunder goals in Newcastle even with the lack of supplies upfront. I myself saw him in a couple of matches and he did manage to score goals with headers... FFS he is so tiny still scores from headers... :hi: He also scored 10 goals inspite of all his injury problems for Newcastle. Thats a good record.

He will be the guy united require and i am sure he will get all the help from the United staff to resurrect his career... :nerves: Provided he stays fit... :sign_omg:

thats like playing Terry as a forward and then comparing him with a winger saying striker hai toh goals aur zyaada hone chahiye :hi:

tch.. get real, sturridge and walcott both play upfront. winger, striker, winger cum striker.. dont forget robhino was used mainly as a striker at city.. anyway, i too know these stats dont mean much.. was just pulling some over pulled gooner legs :sign_omg:

owen to manchesthair yoonited confirmed :nerves:

A part of me wants to point and laugh, but a part of me remembers his goal in WC 98.

Still I think its a shrewd move by United. Owen if fit is always a deadly striker. I guess he would be used in a way similar to what Ole Gunnar was used. Let see, can go either way. Anyhoo.. this has been one of the most amazing transfer seasons in recent years.. Real circus, a liverpool legend (sic..) going to man utd and its just the first week. I just hope we get the Russian though.. taking too much time.

The way I see/want it , the two Owens will end up giving each other company in that treatment room :sign_omg:

:nerves:) was thinking exactly that; an owen and owen ward in the machesster general hospital!!

if it goes well for Owen on the injury front, this could be a very good move; better than the 3 month Henrik Larsson loan.

with the kind of contract he is on; we have nothing to lose really.

@ shekdown.

before calling my comment tripe, think about this; even Wenger has said that if does not win any major trophy this season he will change his strategy at Arsenal.

That says a lot.

i have always maintained that your kids have potential, but to get that converted into major wins, you need leaders with experience

Even our young squad of 1991 had the King around them, plus solid experienced defence. This i think Arsenal lack. FFS, Gallas was your captain half of last season. I rest my case!!

Of the other top teams in the EPL, i like watching you guys the most; but, and thats a big J-Lo but; you guys still lack the experience to cross the line (hence my point that 2/3 good signings who have won something earlier, and you could be in the mix)

Real Madrid Could Turn To Nike If €60m Demand From Adidas Falls Through

Real Madrid have reportedly requested a meeting with shirt manufacturers, Adidas to conduct talks regarding a contract improvement.

According to El Pais, the ‘White House’ now wants the agreement between the pair to be extended to 2012 and for the revenue to be increased from €30 million to €60 million per year.

President, Florentino Perez is aware that following the arrivals of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, the club will have plenty of room to bargain and the paper also reports that if Adidas decline to enhance their sponsorship deal, Madrid would approach rivals, Nike.

Los Blancos also have several other major sponsors including Coca-Cola, Audi, Bwin and Telefonica and collectively they contribute about a third (€130m) of the club’s annual income, believed to be €400m.

El Pais has speculated that Perez is now aiming for an yearly turnover of €500m in order to cope with the huge salary demands of the latest batch of Galacticos.

The supremo had allegedly told Adidas director, Herbert Hainer, “We are the best club in the world,” but the German sports giants are actually hoping to enter negotiations to downgrade the contract due to the economic crisis.
