What a load of codswallop! Id take Flamini back in a heart-beat. He was a brilliant servant of arsenal FC, and his last season with us marked him easily among Europe's best in the DMF position. And Adebayor is pathetic, so he should leave anyway. 20m + Flamini would be day-light robbery of Milan and for that Id drive Adebayor to San Siro.

brilliant servant  he's flamoney like Adecantevenhitadoor

but thats my heart speaking not my brain, coz we really do need him back

Flamini stayed at arsenal through his contract life. He played out of position for countless times and did it with absolute 100% commitment and always played well. He developed into a quality utility player and never once cribbed. Not once. He was a pivotal force in getting us to the UCL final, he was a pivotal force getting us into the Carling Cup final, several big games he turned up and played a huge part as the driving force of the team. All this went under the radar ofcourse.

Then when he had 1 year left on his contract, clubs like Birmingham and Wigan wanted him. We told him, prove yourself to warrant a contract. He more than just proved himself. End of the season, teams like Milan, Juventus and Roma were after him. We offered him a contract, but Milan, a bigger club than ours, offered him a better contract and he moved because we were stubborn not raising our offer.

Arsene came out and criticised Flamini which is ridiculous. Because Flamini did nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing. He was an amazing servant of the club, who honoured his contract in everyway possible. He still loves arsenal, Im sure he'd come back in a heart beat. Hes such a brilliant, underrated player.

yes hes a good player but the fact is he left for money. any footballer who leaves for money (ambition is different) is an idiot :P

I dont see the big deal. If you feel your worth for a certain amount of money and your not getting it at your current workplace, when so many other(bigger workplaces) are offering you it, why wouldnt you leave. Try practically put yourself in that place. He still loves arsenal, and he would have stayed had Arsene paid 5000-10,000 more. Which for the club, is pittance.

umm why is that ?? Football is an occupation. Why are u denying a player his right to ensure a better future and pay for himself ?? Why should not a player look to move where he is getting a "substantial" improvement of money while at the same time not downgrading the level of football he is used to ?

if he'd rather leave Arsenal for just 10K p/w more, that when youre already paid so much as a footballer, then so be it. but whats to say someone else wont offer him more money and then he'll leave us yet again, for another 10K ? RvP is paid much less than what top players at say Chelsea earn - never seen him begging for more?

in the end, the green paper mattered more for him than the Arsenal badge on his jersey. how is that being loyal ?

And things were different last time around bro..whole lotta different!

As i have been mentioning for last 1 month or so,this new era is different....For ex:No stacking up of players for a single position,All the new comes are young,Kaka a very humble person and benzema is still very young,so no ego issues from them..CR has already been kept check on..etc etc

Let them out on the field for a bit and we'll see how well behaved they are then. Kaka and Benzema I don't think you'll even see them bat an eyelid about something emotional unless its truly overwhelming. But CR on the other hand ... explosive.

In all the madness has anyone read Platini's take on the whole summer transfer extravaganza? He's not happy and he's got reason not to be.

Absolute rubbish. One man's food is another man's poison. One mans treasure is another mans trash.

Just because RvP isnt earning as much as, say, Torres is, doesnt mean he has to go around asking for a contract worth that much. If he is, he would say it. He is obviously satisfied with things at the moment and he feels hes getting paid what hes worth. However Flamini was certainly deserving of more money and he felt he warranted it, besides Flamini wasnt earning half that wages before he had the amazing season, and several clubs were offering him that same thing.

10,000 pounds is pittance for a club, not a man. Would you part with Rs.10,000 let alone 10,000 pounds because you 'love' you company? I think not. Arsene Wenger is a brilliant man and a fabulous manager, but he is stubborn as hell. He felt Flamini wasnt worth that money because he felt it was a one season wonder and he wont be able to deliver the same consistently, he was very very wrong.

Flamini still loves arsenal, Im saying this again and again cause people are saying he left because of money and he wasnt loyal to the club. Hes said it himself, that he wont rule out a return to this club.

yeah just because I disagree with you its rubbish ? on the earlier page you called someone's post 'absolute tripe' too. get over the delusion that what others think is actually nonsense :P

how do you KNOW for certain that Flamini would be able to deliver consistently ? he wasnt doing excellent in the seasons before that. heck even Denilson and Diaby were sometimes above in the pecking order.

also he was quite good friends with Fabregas,Hleb and Rosicky. so tell me again why someone would want to leave their friends plus a team like Arsenal for 10K more which he could have EASILY gotten if he had kept performing? he was getting a guaranteed first place at Arsenal - at Milan he was a substitute for more than half the season.

if he had any patience, he would have known that sooner or later he would be rewarded with a new contract had he kept performing, but he chose the easy way out and went to Milan. and he can stay there for all I care

Sorry mate, I shouldnt have said it the way, I did. I just tend to do that a lot, I must apologise for that. :O

Ofcourse, I dont know that Flamini would deliver consistently, nor would Arsene, nor would anybody else, but this is the point where you really have to take a call. Yes, Flamini wasnt doing excellent. But he was doing very well. Why wasnt he doing excellent? Well, did he get the chance? I think we'll find the answer there.

I dont get that. He was good friends with them, so he should stay. Hes got more in his life. A family, his future, his family's future. Hes still in touch with his friends, I think we've seen that in several Flamini and Cesc interviews. He wouldnt have gotten it easily by any mile, like your suggesting. Thats the whole point of the contract isnt it? It represents an agreement for a certain no.of years. So he plays well for 2 years and so he gets the increment. But hes losing 24K at the same time. Opportunity cost.

And whether you like it or not, I know I love my club. I know arsenal for me is going to over-shadow anything else, but I also know that its not going to let it hit logic square in the fore-head. Milan, Madrid, Man Utd, Liverpool, Barcelona, Inter. Juventus are all bigger clubs than Arsenal. They are the clubs non-English players grew up watching. Maybe 10-15 years from now, you'd find more foreign English club supporting players, but even that I highly doubt it. But right now, the current crop of players would have all watched and dreamed of playing for a club like AC Milan. Why wouldnt he leave it? Because he is getting the money he feels he deserves? Because he shouldnt leave his friends who he can be in touch with anyway?

Absolutely not. You only have to watch a trend of arsenal players getting resigned towards the end of their contracts. I cant think of too many players who were 'rewarded' by arsenal for their performances. Besides, it would be highly unlikely that Flamini would have got rewarded in a year or two after just signing what would be presumed by the club as a 'lucrative' contract.

Arsene and Arsenal made a poor decision. It was evident by the fact that Arsene didnt bring in adequate backup and that was the reason we struggled so badly last season.
