On the topic of fee though, like I've said before Real are mugs in more ways than one. 85 Million? when Ronaldo moved for that kinda sum he was a Ballon d'or winner, european player of the year, won the CL and multiple league titles with United. What has Bale achieved exactly? What is his pedigree in europe apart from that one hattrick? How many consistent seasons he has put in to generate that fee? 85 millon sounds a quite lowish offer when you see some of the other player+cash deal bandied about, one of them being 90m+conterao/di maria. Now imagine that IMO its just a counter by real to the capture of Neymar by Barca, when he was projected as a poster boy for Real for years in the first place. They need a new poster boy, and like Nemo said Perez is stupid enough to bring one in a position where Ronaldo plays. And then Madrid not trying to buy Suarez which might make it easier for us to get him. I would be surprised if he is a Liverpool player at the end of the window. He failed horribly there and when Benoit was brought he cooled the bench. Point is, he is not a good defender (maybe quality around him wasnt good when he was at Southampton so it was never noticed) and if real Madrid are planning to use him as one they are gonna have a bad time. Master stroke by Harry to use him as an attacker, though everyone was shouting at their tv for him to do so. Still remember the hattrick vs Inter, the night Bale's legend was born truly.
