Man In The Box
Ipl like tournament? is not ipl a football league like tournament in the first place? Also, present footy league we have in india is also city based, so how is it any different? the Indian league has had parochial 'revolutionary transformations' over the years, with one every 8-9 years. All have really had nothing beyond name changes. Well, for starters this tournament will run alongside the league and not replace it. There will be a 10 week tournament. It is big news in Indian football and surprised no one here is talking about it. There are a lot of issues going on as I-League club secretaries/ executives are against this tournament as it may take away players from the league. However, many players seem quite interested as it will provide Indian football with exposure and allow them to play alongside international stars. Nemo
@bad influence. Not really helping if they will run a parallel tournament. All I see is that they are focusing on bringing retired firangi players. This is not something one would like to see if we are looking at to improve domestic football structure. And no, it is not because of foreign vs Home players debate, I am concerned about bringing in properly retired players. This will mostly turn into an ipl like naach gaana, celeb watch; instead of having emphasis on the sport. Instead of spending money on old firangis and glitz, i'd rather have them improve facilities. I have watched aiff's i-league and first thing that turns me off are pathetic ground conditions. Salt lake and ambedkar stadia aside, almost all other are different shades of brown. Next off putting thing is aimless punting by players but that's a problem related to skill. Bengal and north east has very good football culture, if they can replicate it at other centers (not even thinking about whole nation for now), then that will be great. Unfortunately that will not happen by a 10 week tourney. _ Edited August 23, 2013 by Nemo

Nemo
So Willian is finally here eh. hmm.. who'd have thunk, after Spurs' robust chest thumpings Honestly have no idea about this fella, so wont judge. Looks like Moses is on the way out though, makes sense. Too many players for similar sort of positions. But we'd be losing a home grown player in Moses' departure. Also allegedly Willian had a medical with Spurs before they agreed to a fee with Anzhi. But then Roman goes old school with his "iron curtain connections" and steals the player from under Spurs. LeonardoInventions
Willian is a great great player and if he could fit in to Chelsea's playing style would be devastating. Btw Rockstarnet
neoragexx
Spurs are like the lad who comes along at the end of the night, just when you thought you were in with a fit bird, and sweeps her off her feet.
