Did Rodgers make a Swansea out of Liverpool when he signed Allen? You do know that because of the difference in footballing philosophies, both situations are pole apart. He had to do it because of the rest of the players at Evertonor rather absense of proper strikers up front at Everton. Welbeck's finishing has been pathetic till now, its a make/break season imo for him. Valencia so far this season, has played better than last season. I dont know how good fellaini is creatively but the problem i found this season is there is absolutely no creativity coming from the bolded part of the formation and that is killing our attack especially with cleverly yesterday. I would want some one like ozil ( idk if he can play there but he is one of my fav players)/ Modric or something of that sort to partner with carrick instead of cleverly or fellaini. For United I don't think Fellaini is going to play strictly as a CM as you guys are listing in your formations. If he is played further forward towards the box, chances are that with all those wingers it could be a case of him pushing forward for long balls. Not like everton level but a bit toned. It also could happen in tight situations, towards the end of close games, as I don't think Moyes is anywhere tactically astute to come up with something different to break opposition defences. I would want some one like ozil ( idk if he can play there but he is one of my fav players)/ Modric or something of that sort to partner with carrick instead of cleverly or fellaini. Yup, he'd be the perfect player for you lot. Actually I'm surprised United didn't went for him considering he was unsettled. Had a great game yesterday. Will United play through wings, yes we will(has been the case since Fergies time). But not to land crosses on that Belgian Afro alone. I do not see Fellaini playing anywhere beyong the CM. I dont see a reason as to why this is bad. I'd glad to get and score that equalizer or winner in these situations. Rather than try to pass the ball into the net like Arsenal.
