I dont think the latter is going to be an issue at all if we showed interest. Enrique is to undergo a surgery so i think we need another lb, which was needed anyway later on as cissokho doesnt looks like any good so far. LeonardoInventions Posted November 25, 2013 Report Share Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) henderson , gerrard and lucas are fine in the middle At the moment the combination of Stevie & Lucas isn't working well when teams take the attack to us and press well enough, like in the arsenal game and in the derby and maybe against the swans too. Its good against your palace and fulhams but imo someone is needed in the middle who has the stamina & is mobile enough to play the pressing game as well as carry out the one touch passes and pinging the ball to the forward line whilst being positionally aware. Henderson cannot do that, and neither can Allen (well atleast he's not proven YET) by the looks of it. I think the only reason Rodgers is persisting with Stevie in CM is because he can see those forward runs & move the ball quickly in final third even if that means that we have to suffer sometimes when he's not tracking back effectively and/or runs out of steam as the game progresses which he's been guilty of many times throughout this season. On more than one occasion Rodgers has lamented about the lack of control and the pressing in our midfield regardless of the result which is the biggest pointer towards reinforcemnets coming in Jan for that position.
