LeonardoInventions
Fantastic The price may be a bit on the higher side but he's a brilliant CB, adjusted well to the PL & was on par with Kompany as the best of the lot, Sakho & Lovren are going to be superb together. Just hope that things work out soon re Moreno.

Rosh
sh*t ! Just read that pool are trying for jay Rodriguez after Remy deal failed... Soton ripped apart :/
Banz
If Remy has a serious heart condition he should stop playing. Muamba almost died 2 seasons ago.
The Wolfy among us
Woah! Finally a striker scoring for us!! Meanwhile, here's Torres - The ball hit him rather than him hitting the ball. The ball sniped him to be precise.

LeonardoInventions
On par with kompany? Yes, but you only know/go by FIFA's reputation alone as he wouldn't have Kompany's rating on it no? Lovren in his last season for Saints had way more Interceptions than Kompany, won more aerial duels, made less defensive errors & the defensive errors which led to goal, won more tackles & duels than him, committed only four more fouls than him the entire season. Also he made more forward passes with a 82 (Kompany's was 88) percent pass completion rate. So he fits in with the style of play. The only thing he was guilty of was more clearances than VK which is understandable & less blocks (9 to VK's 14). But doh FIFA 14 rating, that's the sh*t man.. sh*t ! Just read that pool are trying for jay Rodriguez after Remy deal failed... Soton ripped apart :/ Yeah of course, so we don't sign Remy due to a medical concern, but then will go and buy an injured striker instead who can't play until November and who the hell knows what condition he'll be in when he returns. #DailyFail&Co=NoClue
Rosh
I didn't go by rating I spoke from what I saw, I've seen both play a lot... I didn't say lovern is bad, he's good but not anywhere near kompany. Kompany is more than a defender, he's like thiago silva to brazil (read- luiz captaincy) Edited July 28, 2014 by Rosh
gooner4life
Why do people compare CBs with Kompany whenever they want to see how good a CB is in PL? Kompany is a great CB but he isn't the best CB in the league, Koscielny is. And I am not talking from a biased pov. Koscielny is seriously a really really good CB. Kompany definitely the 2nd best though, no doubt.

gooner4life
lol really? Are you trying to compare CBs with chances created, goals scored & key passes stats? It's always difficult to compare CBs based on stats. Perhaps one of the most difficult positions to compare after the GK. Maybe watch a bit more of Koscielny this season, to know how good he is. Stats such as interceptions, tackles etc all depend a lot upon style of play of the team as well as style of play of the CB itself & his role in the CB pairing. So these stats don't show the correct picture when it comes to knowing who is a better CB.
Rosh
Koscielny doesn't even stay back most times, mertesacker makes him better

Wow, you learn something new everyday! Care to see all the factors selected and not the last 3 that you mentioned? I guess not. Analysis along the terms of "Koscielny is seriously a really really good CB." must be better than stats. Stats such as interceptions, tackles etc all depend a lot upon style of play of the team as well as style of play of the CB itself & his role in the CB pairing. So these stats don't show the correct picture when it comes to knowing who is a better CB. How about the number of clean sheets or goals conceded then? Or does that also not show the correct picture?
