Nemo
congrats to the india team o nthe vicroty. Though is futile if the stupid AIFF doesnt get more involved in team getting some more quality matches.. an annual nehru cup with only one team at par with India is not gonna solve anything

Though is futile if the stupid AIFF doesnt get more involved in team getting some more quality matches.. an annual nehru cup with only one team at par with India is not gonna solve anything till we get to a level where the top Asian teams start playing friendlies/ tourneys with us, we need as much competitive games exp as possible. ------ and Subrata Paul is really really good. If not mistaken, some English Championship team gave him trials and there is a possible move to MLS in the offing.

If not mistaken, some English Championship team gave him trials and there is a possible move to MLS in the offing. yes we need matches but having just one tournament per year taht too on our home with all but one weaker teams (except Syria) is not going to help much, prior to This Nehru Cup the team last played a quality tournament in Asia cup challanger or what ever it was called last year which we won to get a place in Asia cup in 2011. The team had a stint in portugal and barcelona playing 3rd div teams there, which franlky doesnt giv much competition, only good thing was the change of scenery, its the fault of AIFF for sure. I really-really dislike Mr. Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi, single handedly ruined the Indian football.. In the early 80s we actually were a known entity in Asia, what with strikers like Chunni Goswami spoken as one of the best CF's in Asia. Also, regarding Subrata Paul, i dont know about Cola-ship or Mls but there were talks of a 2nd dev Portugal side having interest in him when the team toured there. To my knowledge , its sunil Cettri(spelling???).and the club which took him on trial are cardiff i guess. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And regarding last matchday , I'd never have thought I'd say this a few years back, but Darren Fletcher is the best midfielder we've got. He is the force in the present crop of midfielders Edited September 1, 2009 by praju7

But last season and this season till now he hass been IMMENSE. The closest to keano we can get and he is just 25. And its blasphemy taking acquillani's name in the same breath as the other three, atleast until he has actually touched a premier league ball! Mel81x
Aquilani - Brilliance till u touch him with your foot then he crumbles like a poorly bake pie. Although the one injury that has me wondering more now is Modric. I see a nice steady decline there for a bit unless someone steps up to the plate and pushes as hard as he does. Thoughts and comments?

Used to be an excellent and consistent player at Blackburn rovers. His performances at Tottenham are far from Consistent. But who can forget that wonder goal against Arsenal in the derby. Even Niko Kranjcar is known from SOME long rangers and volleys. Edited September 1, 2009 by praju7
