KWC
Kakuta: DRC decision reached On the occasion of its last meeting held on 27 August 2009, the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) was called to pass a decision in a contractual dispute opposing the French club Lens to the French player Gael Kakuta and the English club Chelsea. The French club had lodged a claim with FIFA seeking compensation for breach of contract from the player and requesting also sporting sanctions to be imposed on the player and the English club for breach of contract and inducement to breach of contract respectively. The DRC found that the player had indeed breached a contract signed with the French club. Equally, the DRC deemed it to be established that the English club induced the player to such a breach. As a result the player was condemned to pay compensation in the amount of EUR 780,000, for which the club, Chelsea, are jointly and severally liable, and sporting sanctions were imposed on both the player and Chelsea in accordance with art. 17 par. 3 and 4 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players. A restriction of four months on his eligibility to play in official matches has been imposed on Kakuta. Chelsea are banned from registering any new players, either nationally or internationally, for the two next entire and consecutive registration periods following the notification of the present decision. Furthermore, the club, Chelsea, have to pay Lens training compensation in the amount of EUR 130,000.

VanillaDuo
good for guys like mikel, kalou, essien, ivanovic Why Essien's name is in the same bracket ? Essien is a very top class midfielder/player, he is certain to get starting place in any football team. And i am not a chelsea fan.
cyb3r_daku
Its not long term ,Chelsea will soon file an appeal and mostly the ban will reduced only towards the Jan transfer window. This is way too harsh.
Nemo
Is this even legal ?!?!? I believe we still havent appealed, once we do that i am sure the ban wud reduce or would change into monetary fine, no way in hell is Roman gonna take this. what bulshit.. Real Madrid go on tapping players and no one gives a hoot, chelsea signs a youngster with a bright future and suddenly its crime. Bloody f**ktards.. Platini is on a one way mission to derail english clubs, first the Eduardo ban and now this. Good thing that we hav youngsters who can step it up (in the case the ban stays- highly unlikely) and i believe we wud be able to sign free agents or loan in players. This happened before the AS ROMA regarding Mexes as well, but it was later reduced and they were allowed to do their sh*t.
Nemo
Why Essien's name is in the same bracket ? Essien is a very top class midfielder/player, he is certain to get starting place in any football team. And i am not a chelsea fan. i believe he was refering to players who will get more chances now that apparently we wont be allowed to do business.. though essien was/is a regular started as of now too

ΨΨ babloos ΨΨ
That's what i was referring. my bad, what i want to say is chance for essien to be top player, before chelsea buys another guy, already packed with lampard, ballack, deco, mikel,if joe cole gets recovered u can see essien even playing in rb position
Nemo
my bad, what i want to say is chance for essien to be top player, before chelsea buys another guy, already packed with lampard, ballack, deco, mikel,if joe cole gets recovered u can see essien even playing in rb position i dont think ancelotti is that kinda idiot. Also deco n ballack shud not get a start over essien, in the ideal midfield, lampard and essien shud be the first names, rest later depending on the situation. Essien's versetality sometimes becomes a problem fro him as he is the first guy the manager looks to use in any position that has the player missing :\ as for the ban news,

Mel81x
Amazing how when the people that started all the poaching rubbish are done, the teams that really haven't done much get punished when they try and acquire someone. UEFA and its silly way of handling things. I don't think Roman will let this slide and there had better be an appeal otherwise it might get tight in there. I don't like Chelsea but this kind of punishment is totally unwarranted even if it to set an example to the rest of the football leagues in Europe. Just not done right.
