supersim
didnt see that brazil game but reports suggest that brazil played tactcally more compact and counter attacked. Quite surprising, but now they are in the World Cup and will start as favorites. Btw, Portugal in real danger of missing out. If they lose even one more then no Ronaldo in the world cup!!! even argentina is in danger of missing out no messi no ronaldo in world cup WTF
VanillaDuo
It's always the ref's fault when he gives a penalty for a dive...By the way rooney dived... he might hav fallen down due to shirt pulling by both players but in any case it wasn't a penalty and he appealed for it after he went down as if he was brought down... Now what is FA and FIFA goig to do for it??? Nothing... As far as I know if a player is pulled down in the penalty box by a opposing player it is a penalty, you might argue it was soft but it is a penalty as far as your comment suggests. Isn't it ? the_BIG_J
wow, brazil won agian! impressive!...anyways did any of you catch Spain in action against belgium?! they were scintillating, the slick passing and movement, totally sexy football, they were opening up Belgium with every move, really a joy to watch, even the Pique goal, as a CB he dorve forward, started the move, and then finished with a brilliant assist by Villa...btw Villa and Silva were outstanding in the match. I would definitely tout Spain as my favorites, but they lack the big stage experience and temperament, they gained some of it by winning the Euro, but come WC, they will be in the top 3 for me! DevilsOwn
Firewolf, you'll have to do much better than that video to make a strong case against Rooney. All of them are either from way back when he was a petulant kid or 50-50 cases, where he was touched. Yeah he goes on to make a meal of that, but thats completely different from a blatant "dive". As i see it, a sensible approach to penalty kicks are three pronged: 1. ClearCut - if only it were as simple always. Goal scoring chance, defender desperate, brings down forward, acts innocent but well too easy to not give a penalty. 2. Ooh WhattaDive - no contact, no touch/push/pull, but heck i am Gerrard i am in the penalty box, i have no chance in hell of scoring from here, but i have got to keep the Rafa myth alive, so i DIIIVVEEE 3. MakeaMealOutOff - now heres the contentious one. The first one is blue electricity, second one is red. This one well.. you are in the area, in control/ fightinf for the ball, you get some contact.. in a perfect world you keep on trying, but in real world, well you go down. Especially if the last touch on the ball was yours. its not saintly, but it gets you the decision. Sadly thats the truth, and its perfectly legal. And it happens not just in the penalty area. All over the ground, the better players know that a deft touch away from a charging defender will in most cases get a foul. and its done. Rooneys penalty againse Le Arsenal was this. He knew alumina was coming, he poked the ball and went down as soon as the keeper touched him (maybe even a bit earlier, cause only a blind man would not know that a contact was imminent) I am not saying Rooney is a saint. Far from that. But there are much bigger and blatant villains.

dabba
And he will still say " I don't dive and I will never dive" in his pre-match conferences... He is lair+diver and that makes him gerrard ... argentina lose again so much for messi saying they were going to win Firewolf, you'll have to do much better than that video to make a strong case against Rooney. Nemo
http://goal.com/en-gb/news/2558/news/2009/...ter-for-chelsea  first mutu and now robben, the douches dont know how to shut their yapper. Anyhoo, all this diver-diver thing is overblown, ther will always be diving in the game, some are better in showing it off cleanly. One thing though, one high profile player that doesnt hav a history of diving is FRANK LAMPARD jr. and i love and respect him for that. Search youtube, there is only one (in the entire youtube, even with the amount of haters chelsea have, fancy that) vid of lampsy allegedly diving and even that is tenfold more convincing then any of gerrard's or ronaldo's and in some cases rooney's.
