The commentator even said it right. He got scraps all night and the one chance at daylight he got from the Villa defense was all he really needed. As for this being the turn around to make the season go well for them? I am still skeptical. Rafa is still missing key component play in the middle of the park and Jamie Carragher just can't keep up with fast paced strikers. Insua is turning out to be a liability but hes also settling in very well to his rotating forward/defensive roles. As a l'pool fan I am happy with the result but looking at a season that has been nothing short of silly and riddled with questions about how the players are going to make a bid for a top 4 spot I think that Liverpool have to knock the stuffing out of everyone they meet going forward for Rafa's promise to come through. P.S. I really wanted Villa to win yesterday because they played better and their forwards/midfielders were putting better crosses into the box. Its the kind of victory, (against all pre-match odds, last gap winner, whilst having a bad game, against a top team), that lifts a team up. Liverpool are now only 4 points away from a CL spot and i do think they have a good enough team for that, provided that - Torres and StevieGTM stay fit for a while. I - Rafa doesnt chop-n-change his team, - Aquillani plays on a stretch, cause w/o him Masch/ Lucas are no threat going forward. Thats a HUGE midfield gap Liverpool has. ---------- That said, i really hope neither of the above 3 clauses happen, cause i really want to see a new team like Villa/ Spurs knock them off the top 4. It could happen, however, Im very skeptical about it. I think Man City and Spurs, both have a better squad and incredible depth, comparatively.
