Flamini and hleb are biggest idiots i have seen, they were doing well at arsenal.they just wanted to ruin their careers.now they both are rotting on the benches.

and Song will be back b4 the villa game..and diaby can fit his shoes till then.

Hleb I agree, got too big for his boots, Flamini - that wasnt the case, he wasnt treated well, he wanst offered a contract until the season he played brilliantly for us in combination with Cesc, but yes a rookie mistake when a club like AC Milan come calling, very few can resist, thats why I feel its imperative for Arsenal to win a trophy this year, else Cesc will leave!

What is this there is a report on Arsenal interest in a 19 yr old 6'6' Ivory Coast striker, another jewel unearthed by Wenger?!

PS- if he is back for the ManUtd game I will be pleased.

Edit - @Polash - Wenger will NEVER go for that deal, it doesnt make any sense, you cant remove the fulcrum of the team, and he knows that better than us!

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has warned supporters that Arsene Wenger will not spend "irrational" sums of money as he searches for a new striker in the transfer window, despite reports linking the club with a number of high-profile figures.

Wenger has made no secret of the fact that with Robin van Persie a long-term injury victim and Nicklas Bendtner also suffering from fitness problems, a new striker is a priority for a club that is traditionally reluctant to spend substantial funds on incoming players.

Arsenal have used the January transfer window to their advantage on occasions though, with Theo Walcott, Emmanuel Adebayor and Andrei Arshavin all strengthening the squad in mid-season in recent years.

Expectations of a big-name arrival have only grown following recent claims that both Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain and Lazio's Mauro Zarate, valued at £31 million and £36 million respectively, are both on Wenger's wish-list.

But Gazidis expects Wenger to retain his prudent approach, despite the burning necessity for Arsenal to strengthen their attacking options as they seek to maintain their Premier League title challenge.

"We won't be making moves to respond to short-term pressure and we won't spend irrational amounts of money," Gazidis told Sky Sports News. "But if we can find the right player that can add real quality to the squad, of course we'll make the right move.

"We're in a good position, but the thing to always bear in mind is spending money by giving it to other clubs for the talent they have, is not necessarily the answer to all issues."

Gazidis also denied speculation linking captain Cesc Fabregas with a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, blaming the renewed transfer talk on upcoming elections at the Catalan club. Wenger is also expected to sign a new contract soon in a "very amicable, quick agreement."

Like Big J said, Carlton Cole would be a quality signing for us. If we are somehow able to snap up the trio of Scott Parker, Carlton Cole and Matthew Upson from West Ham, I can guarantee us the EPL and UCL titles this season.

Are we linked to Upson and Parker too? if yes, can you pl provide a link?!....As for defender, I really dunno who I would choose between Upson and Hangeland....SP would be decent cover for Song/Diaby but I would prefer someone more physically dominant

if Wenger lets Fabregas go I would be shocked and for Higuan? Are you joking? I wonder if anyone in the world of footy even sees that as a fair exchange. I hope he does get the 6'6 striker though it would certainly help up front.

We arent linked to either of them, but both of them will be looking for a way out of West Ham, as they look the team going down. Hangeland wont leave Fulham, cant see us getting him. However, getting Upson back would be great. Scott Parker will be cover for Song, atleast for sometime, hes probably the most physically dominant player Ive seen in a long time, in the midfield. Hes your proper no-nonsense English midfielder and its a pity he hasnt played for England more often than he has. Can command the team and back line as well.

All 3 of them English talents as well. As much as Id like to see it happen and as much as its actually possible to make it happen. I know for a fact that Arsene will not spend the money on them and will perceive it to be too high, as they are English.

Cant believe people are actually discussing this. Its BS, not going to happen.

On a more happier note why in the world didn't they dump Babel on Birmingham? He hasn't really made his mark on his time at Liverpool and they could have used the money to get someone else. I have always wondered where Ryan fits into the attack lineup because any position you play him in makes him look like a deer in front of headlights.

think he is a decent player, just at the wrong club, had he chosen Arsenal, I am sure, he would have developed into a world class talent..

I couldn't have agreed more with you on that comment. I wonder why they even bought him in the first place. He should have been let go a long time ago and replaced. Look at Keane and how well he has done since leaving Liverpool. I am a fan but a realist and if someone is not performing at the club then we need to look to other sources if they have a poor track record and Ryan needs to move on. The question now is to where considering the gates to B'ham are not looking so open anymore.
