Mel81x
Anyone other than me think its silly that Togo had to pull out of the African nations? What next, someone goes to ZA during the WC and threatens a European or South American powerhouse and they pull out as well? Whats the sport coming to when a government is unable to control the stupidity of militia and provide security to teams at events. I think FIFA should get a bit tougher here and make a strong stand on this matter but then again this isn't "BIG" news to them I suppose. supersim
2 players injured two people dead including one of the coaches. This looks silly to you?
Grimmjow
or wait, did i misunderstand you? are you calling the situation itself silly, or the exit of togo as silly?
kitson007
a frustrating game ,brum v manutd....i hate it when fergie plays 4-5-1..we dominate posession with this but barely make any opportunities.....rooney is like a supporting striker and he cant be a post player....fergie should have started with diouf and shouldnt have kept scholes in the starting lineup.....we barely won any ball in the box and the goal scored also was an own goal..... and fergie please bid for marek hamsik...the guy is top class and his price will increase unimaginabely after the WC Edited January 9, 2010 by kitson007

Mel81x
or wait, did i misunderstand you? are you calling the situation itself silly, or the exit of togo as silly? the situation. Its led to a country exiting because of the way things are going on over there. Its sad when acts like this disrupt what would have been a good cup in Africa. I wonder what the monkeys that shot at the team were even thinking when they did it. P.S. Are they back? Fire Wolf
They attacked the Angolan Army which was escorting the Togo team. If anyone's silly, then it's the Angolan Govt/FA for hosting so many matches in a disputed and dangerous area.

DevilsOwn
Mirror is a load of crap. Simmy, you'd know better than to even visit that site! That said, United desperately needs our top 2 defenders back. The goal we gave yesterday and against Leeds would never have happened with RIo and Vida around. And that would have been enough for a win yesterday. And maybe get a striker+midfielder in Summer.
SchneideR
I am sorry to say but the performance of United in the last couple of weeks has been such that i doubt we'd win a single trophy this season with the current squad... SAF is trying to drag the depleted United squad to the end of the season which in my opinion is a disaster in the making. Inconsistency. No creativity in midfield if Giggs and Scholes dont play. No penetration. No threat in the box with Rooney's constant tracking back to dispossess the opponent. I fear for the worst. Valencia has been the silver lining this season. kitson007
@simmy ...whats given in the link might be true because fergie is genuinely frustrated with berbatov and nani is out of favour as well....anderson has been ok but not what he was at porto....and tosic hasnt impressed when playing for the reserves....i hope that berbatov leaves because he is just too lazy and loses the ball too often......he has just netted in 6 goals this season while owen who mostly remains on the bench has netted in 7....but as far as vidic is concerned i would hate to see him leave ....he is among the top 3 centre backs in europe IMO.... and they should now invest a good left winger since giggs isnt at his best anymore and will retire after 1 more season....maybe by not selling nani they can work on him and make him a good winger ...but if nani performs well in the WC we can get a good amount for him.... but if they get good replacements it will be better for us.... Mel81x
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...ers&cc=3888 an amusing read but its still worth a giggle. I wonder what the fallout will be if they fail to qualify for anything this season. who will stay who will leave. Interesting times ahead. P.S. Soccernet is for S&G

Fire Wolf
What a crazy comeback by Mali. Angola were 4.0 up till the 80th minute, when Mali scored there first and then scored 3 goals in the last 3 mins. 4-
