Keano
In the end, the plus points to take as an Arsenal fan would be, knowing that despite the win Man Utd are not better than Arsenal Wow .. team which committed lesser fouls, had more shots, more corner kicks, lesser yellow cards did not play better football. Anderson, Park, Rafael, Vidic, Rio and Rooney(besides the PK miss) had a brilliant game. Nani with his usual bitching and decision making on when to pass/cut inside has been ok'ish. Arsenal got totally out played yesterday in every department, its a fact , they were lucky it finished 1-0 , instead of 3 or 4 nil. Nasri is the hottest player in BPL since last couple of months alongwith Bale , but looked below avg player yesterday. We have to blame our players for not killing the game off in the second half. considering the way United started the season .. we were lucky not to concede the equalizer in the final 5 mins. Rafael Silenced Bale and Nasri(for major parts of the game). Malouda next ? Edited December 14, 2010 by Keano
hope
Gutted again to see arsenal again not beating a top team.Though the Park goal was pure good fortune.Plus point would be arsenal didnt look defensively vulnerable this time which is big improvement from last season.Nasri had no impact on the game,Song(weak link) played very bad i think. The main fortae of Arsenal is PASSING and that was completely missisng. Now what should arsene wenger do to win a big game.Van persie should play where chamakh played yesterday i think.Arsenal need a BIG NAME SIGNING now,who wont be fazed by the situation.Just watch when both teams were coming out of tunnel,MANU looked confident but ARSENAL player faces were filled with nervoussnes.Come on ARSENAL.Do it this time. Yeah , Nani needs to get his head together , two matches in a row now , he had a chance to pass the ball to Rooney for a easy goal, but decided to shoot and ruining the chance. He has improved o much this season , with Valencia out , he gets to play every single game now like CR did , just needs to fix his decision making a bit. Rafael , he has come long way since that Bayern Munich CL night last year , where he fell into the trap of that a**hole Ribery and got the red which was a major reason of our exit. He is turning into a top class RB. BTW saw Becks & Gary Neville in the VIP stands , Becks with all beard & long hair , looks like he has lost his Diamond coated Gillette Razer. Titanium
^ Are u forgetting he is a Arsenal fan , no matter how bad they play there will always be that Gunner e ness in his posts. shekdown
WOW!! That is a point I completely disagree. Both teams gave the ball away far too easily. Neither team held on to the ball the way they should have. AND Man Utd had more possession than Arsenal for most of the match. Its just a case wherein both teams never played to their potential, but Arsenal managed to dip lower in performance than Man Utd. It was a match that would have been 5x better had both teams lived up to their potential. Both teams were terrible overall, but there were a few spells of 10 - 15 mins in both halves where arsenal kept the ball and simply could not penetrate in the final 3rd. Possession by pure percentage in the end was 50-50, but the reason being, arsenal committing a lot people and not passing the ball around for a goal in the last 10 mins or so, which left the ball to be strewn around. ^ Are u forgetting he is a Arsenal fan , no matter how bad they play there will always be that Gunner e ness in his posts. Arsenal got totally out played yesterday in every department, its a fact , they were lucky it finished 1-0 , instead of 3 or 4 nil. Nasri is the hottest player in BPL since last couple of months alongwith Bale , but looked below avg player yesterday. Outplayed? Hardly. Man Utd were the better side marginally, but we certainly werent outplayed. Wow .. team which committed lesser fouls, had more shots, more corner kicks, lesser yellow cards did not play better football. Rafael Silenced Bale and Nasri(for major parts of the game). Malouda next ? Whoever said better football about yesterdays match? Im talking about the better team for the season. Its a sub-par squad Man Utd have right now, SAF is making his magic work like he has before. The side is simply not superior to Arsenal and it was amongst Man Utds strongest squad, if not their strongest, yet Arsenal did not have Fabregas, Theo, Vermaelen and RvP to start with, who are guaranteed first team starters. Like I sad before, its foolish to make excuses for the defeat, in the end we ended up with 0 points which is a massive blow to our title ambitions, for me. Man Utd played a powerful game that overran Arsenal, not a game which proved better than arsenal, it was tactically solid and brilliant, and something that SAF has been deploying against the Gunners for the last 3 seasons or so. AngerSmash
Arsenal should be happy that the score-line was not 3-0 But we still have a game left on their ground Edited December 14, 2010 by AngerSmash

Madhav
An interesting stat from united v Arsenal.. Average age of outfield starters - United - 26.5 Arsenal - 25.6 so all this talk of YOUNG arsenal team goes... Yet, they are 9 months YOUNGER my friend! What Arsenal has right now and since half a decade is raw talent... technical strength is unquestionable, but mental strength is more than questionable... How often do we see Arsenal failing to penetrate the final quarter of the pitch, against a top team? Almost every time... I'm pretty sure Man City wouldn't have lost to them had they been 11 players through the match... I think Arsenal's saving grace would be RvP and Cesc's fitness through this season... Joy
Remove Van Der Sar from that and the age difference should be even below Arsenal. Arsenal can no longer make excuses of being a young squad anymore , if they can't deliver now even after being at top twice now this year and last to last season , they never will. Csec soon will be off to Barca , they are running out of time to win that title.
shekdown
Remove Van Der Sar from that and the age difference should be even below Arsenal. Arsenal can no longer make excuses of being a young squad anymore , if they can't deliver now even after being at top twice now this year and last to last season , they never will. Csec soon will be off to Barca , they are running out of time to win that title. People like you are pathetic. You dont even know what football is about. Everyone wants to win, but there will always be only 1 winner. That doesnt mean everything is over. The only reason arsenal fans get annoyed is not simply because there is no silverware. The reason we get annoyed is because there is no silverware because of the SAME mistakes. A club finishing in a UCL spot every year. Reaching the knock-out rounds and normally Quarters or Semis of the competition; reaching semis in the FA and League Cup. Quality youth products, and the best financial structure in Europe; should be quite satisfying. If that isnt, well you arent much of a fan, your more of a glory hunter. Im sure your delighted Man Utd are winning every season, and piling on their ridiculous and outrageous amount of debts which they are simply unable to service. Im sure that not an excuse at all. As for your age difference thing, against a pathetic attempt at winding up people. "Remove Van Der Sar its even lower". Ok, remove Squillaci, Rosicky and Sagna the age difference should be rock bottom. Oh by the way, Rosicky and Squillaci arent usual starters. And their original players are far younger than their counter parts. In contrast, Van Der Sar, Giggs and Scholes are regulars for Man Utd and it should bump up the average age of the squad. Having said that, this whole age comparison thing is crazy. Dont be idiotic bringing it up, no Arsenal fan is defending or making excuses saying the squad is young, this season. The last thing we need is a Man Utd fan pretending we are making up those excuses. Jog on.
Joy
^ So sure have a attitude problem. Get a life... shekdown
^ So sure have a attitude problem. Get a life... You know everything about football , u have a Phd degree in football , one day soon to manage Arsenal itself , happy now. Why are you making this about me? You have nothing to say to defend yourself? Your statements that "Arsenal have to win something, no excuses" I have pointed out it is wrong, cant you sanely try to defend it without saying "Your going to be the manager of Arsenal". How is that even relevant? Maybe I should have said "Yes, your right about arsenal. You know everything about Arsenal, you'll be them manager of Man Utd". Does that sound relevant to you? Joy
The problem with that is you will keep going on and on , till u win the argument. Same thing happened last time as well when Nikhil & Rad were in a discussion with you, u can't talk with other people in a proper manner , abusing and insulting is the way you try to stamp authority. No wonder u have had a spat with almost everyone who visits this thread on IVG. Just listen to every interview that Arsene Wenger gives whenever he's asked the question when is that silverware coming , you will know ur answer.
