Mel81x
sigh is all i can do what a great start for us and then a slip-up and a very hard press game from b'pool and we got doubled by them after 57 years .... embarrassing at its best. Towards the end, players were just dropping off the ball and not even forcing the issue anymore. Edited January 12, 2011 by Mel81x

Man In The Box
I only watched the 1st half of the Liv vs Blackpool match as I was feeling sleepy. Got a heart-attack when I saw the scoreline today . @hsk_collosus : Poulsen was playing very well in the first half and so was Lucas. The problem is the defence. Except for Johnson there is no one who is really that good ( Carra is injured ofcourse ). We really need a good centre back. Kelly had a good start to the match but was poor in the 2nd half. And Skrtel is like . We really need a good CB right now. I even don't mind if Kenny gives Ayala or Danny Wilson a chance. Skrtel was not bad in the last 2 seasons but this year he has just been poor. Anshul
Oh dear, Liverpool Serves them right for praising a performance in which they "did well to stay in the match" and on top of that united didn't have to move out of 2nd gear
DevilsOwn
wow.. just wow... Just saw the scores from last night. Arsenal and 'pool both lose. Why does Wenger not realise that this is their best shot at a title after nearly 5 years! And 'pool..oh how the 'King Kenny will save us' junta would be feeling now. And to the guy who said, only Johnson in the 'pool defence can defend, well.. wake up!!!

lazycod3r
They didn't just lose to ipswich they were pure shite.... even fabregas was playing with a don't care attitude ... I guess the attitude of bendtner and arshavin is rubbing off on the others
Joy
When they say the standard of top BPL teams has dropped , they are right. Sure the other teams have improved but this is not expected in wildest of dreams. The way things are going every BPL team still involved is gonna take a hammering in later stages of Champions League , even United's defense is very shaky. Nemo
^^ what goes around comes around. English teams were average in the 90's and before in the UCL until united won the title (first english team to win CL) in 1999. 2000's saw a resurgent english football, chelsea (must be a record the times we have gone to the final 4 w/o winning it even once ), pool, united, arsenal all of them a regular occurrence in the final 4 and winning as well. now it looks like lull again :| well at lest till we get our sh*t together. Well i would after 2004 English teams become really strong while italy teams were fading. Arsenal even with all their invisible team , were quite average in UCL. Arsenal are regular in the final 4 ? may be in the last half part of the decade Anyways I still feel the like of Man Utd , Chelsea , Barca , real Madrid and inter as Fav for the ucl with Bayern and Arsenal having a chance in the next few UCL. Would love to See Juve And AC milan to get back to reckoning. I would love to see some teams from other european countries do well if the fair play policy in implemened. Their many teams like Benfica and Ajax even Porto who lose their Star players after each season. They are teams with a great history and i would love to see them do well. The Reason Why EPL is so popular in Asia is because of Great Marketing of the league as a brand as well a lot of money are invested in Club. With Due respects to chelsea , it was mainly Man Utd and Arsenal mainly challenging for the league. Before Roman came and made them a title winning team. Yeah Chelsea were a top 4 team but never title contender. With Money doing the talk soon Man City will be in recogning. So i hope the new rule is implemented. Nemo
^^ roman came in 2003, we reached our first semi in the same season. yes roman and money helped but that is not the point. for what ever reason, 2000s was dominated by english teams in UCL, yes only 2 titles were won but when you look as a whole, there were lots of english teams in the knock out and above rounds. Valencia apart from the first 2 years were not to be seen anywhere in later stages of CL. Same with roma, juve, inter, bayern who all had very limited presence. I am aware inter won the title but apart from last season they were invisible in the decade. It was mainly the big two of spain, AC milan, chelsea, man utd, liverpool and arsenal those who had on an avg much better show in the UCL. that being said, i would gladly take 1 UCL title and 9 meh seasons (ala inter) over 4-5 semifinal appearance (ala chelsea) w/o a title in a decade Arsenal even with all their invisible team , were quite average in UCL. i think you mean invincible
