Mel81x
But defenders will sh*t brix if they see Torres and Drogba in the same squad If only dreams came true hehe. I don't think he'll leave because a certain Spaniard will make him stay and he is on the rise now. With a bolstered confidence and a team starting to get its shape back I don't foresee him leaving but money does work its charms.
Madhav
why didn't roman go for it? You'll really could have gotten a class defender for a nice price too and instead of running after our point man that would have been a sweeter deal. I know.... Chelsea could live without a new striker right now, but a world class and young defender would have done wonders to our aging and injury ridden back-line.... Sigh! Roman Sigh!.... 1 million of misery could hurt us very bad.... f**k, this deal was imminent... how could it not happen... Come summer, ManCity will pounce on Luiz! This season is so f**ked up for us.... :(

What is ageing is our frontline . Drogba and Anelka . Our prime strikers. They should be our first concern.
supersim
ohh and how is david luiz world class already Portuguese first division hardly stands grounds compared to the likes of EPL , La liga and Serie A . Young and world class , That is one rare combo. Even if he comes , our pecking order would still be Terry - Alex/ Iva then luiz then bruma. Madhav
^^ ok aging might not be, but alex is injury prone, terry seems fatigued after every couple of games, iva is seeming more aggressive on the right than bosi.... there has to be one strong central defender... Bruma is still not 1st team material... And David Luiz' class has been judged by numerous scouts of numerous clubs... without a doubt he is the hottest defensive commodity out there, along with subotic and kjaer... He has shown his potential at international level as well.. Brazil coaching staff speaks real high about him... And, I even read last summer that Lucio was highly impressed by Luiz' potential... I guess that was enough to prove his worth... Striker/s would come in summer... We have more of defensive worries for this season... Also, Chelsea's potential 25mil offer for Luiz was tabled by judging his class and potential... Edited January 28, 2011 by Madhav

Madhav
Suarez is a great acquisition by Liverpool... Now let Torres move on!!
Nemo
man this is not good, agreed the price for luiz was insane to begin with but carlo was so into the weird haired guy that i thought we will net him. We dont really need a defender right now compared to an attacker but he would have been one for the future. I hope we make some acqusition in the transfer window.. perhaps a deadline torres i dunno what to make of this, on one hand i am happy that we are playing the hard bargain. not anymore are we the easy spenders who can be milked by any one setting inflated price; but on the other hand i am a bit concerned about the miserly behavior. Sigh... summer should give a CLEAR indication what roman's intentions are.

Benfica has nothing to loose.... Luiz has a contract with them till 2015... with city around (who as a matter of fact are interested in luiz), benfica will definitely get more if not the same in the summer.... Nemo
i know.. just a matter of 1-3 million and also that we were adamant on paying in installments what are the odds that come monday midnight we head luiz has been brought by city ala robhino tbh if this means we end up with torres as a mad buy around deadline (limits on the mad part, like 35 mill limit) then i wont complain one bit. love that blond haired fella. btw, the spanish journo who broke the news of torres' insist for a reconsider of chelsea's offer is claiming on twitter that torres' deal is almost done, with anelka going to pool on a loan. PLEASE GOD YES ! i wont want anelka to go though, even on a loan; but if it means torres then HELL YEAH !
Madhav
^ I dont give a sh*t about "almost done" deals anymore.... 3 days back Luiz was a 95% Blue.... f**k this sh*t... Now, unless I read, "XYZ signs for Chelsea", it'll be just plain ol' goal.com for me...
Mel81x
Don't think Torres will go and I think that the person that has a major hand in that is KD. There is an air around Anfield now and things are looking brighter. Just look at the jump we have made in the past few weeks as well. Money might be a motivating factor along with trophies and a European spot but looking at the math and our opponents over the next few months there is a slim chance that we might slot ourselves pretty for a Europa spot and who knows what else. Man In The Box
Disappointed that Torres wants to leave Pool but i'm glad that Suarez has come. I just hope we continue this winning run of ours and win the Europa League. That's the only way Torres may agree to stay with us at the end of this season. Also if Torres leaves then others may follow as they will believe that our club lacks ambition
supersim
imho with the amt of money we are offering for torres , liverpool could really use it to buy 3-4 more players including charlie adams which in turn could benefit them more than they realise. What do pool fans think ? Keep torres or take the money and buy new players ?
supersim
PS - I just hope he s not trying to do a rooney his way to a new contract
Mel81x
i dont think its a matter of more money but who knows. The contract is already signed but the buy-out clause is also there which they will make him honor. I still don't see him leaving the club anytime soon and even if we got C.Adams that would bolster our midfield I don't think any manager would want to take a gamble on L.Suarez when you have a seasoned striker at the top of the arc right now. We have even kept the youth team members out for way too long now and with their injection into the team things are looking brighter as well. I say let him leave if he really wants to once the season is over and at that time use the money and bid for new players that will help us out in the next season. For now, he's playing well and showing guile I say try and keep that going for as long as possible to ensure we solidify a Europa slot. hsk_colossus
distressing news bout torres....want him to stay obviously....but if wants to leave, theres nothing we can do about it....hopefully well get atleast 50 million ,if he leaves ... we can use this money to strengthen other positions on the team...
