Hot-Drake-Pixel
I saw the game at Vinit's place the other day. He and CC were playing it. It looks like a lot of fun and using the Sixaxis as a proxy for the bowling ball is excellent. I know bunch of chicks who are crazy about bowling. I guess it would be easy to lure them into blowing party at my place and eventually to PS3 and GI.com. Read between the lines as you like.

coolcorner78
Guys I need help with this one.... I am willing to purchase PS3, but I have "" NO "" knowledge regarding the same... 1). Should I got for 40 gb or 60 gb model?? ( I wanna buy Legit one whichsover model I wanna buy ). 2). I have heard that 40 gb model has lesser Nm then 60 GB, but I have least knowledge wats that... 3). then I have heard ps2 games cant work on 40 gb model but works well with 60 gb one.... 4). Then pls reply which all accessories comes in the package....do they provide Six axis, ds3 or simple remote in the package??? 5). Does this console has MAJOR PROBLEMS like in case of Xbox we have RRoD?? If not, is it safe to get 60 gb model thats not legit and comes for around 22k ?? lastly, is there any chance of any good offer coming near future with this console, like free game or blue ray movie or smthing like that??? 1. 60GB if you can find it. And if you're buying legit, theres plenty of 60GB units around. 2. Doesn't make a difference at the moment. 3. PSOne games work fine on the 40GB version. The PS3 60GB has the best backward compatibility. 4. At the moment it's just a controller and standard AV cables. You're on your own after that. 5. Random issues with Blu Ray drives failing. If you're under warranty you're good to go. Hi, you say there is plenty of 60gb units around. where can i find them? i am in bangalore. let me know. from reading this i get that its better to buy the NTSC-J???? Earlier I had this post:: ============================= """Well lot of people have asked the same question, may be its a repeat, but want some opinions (may be through months and years it might have changed) so asking. I am planning to buy PS3 from bangalore. So, which one to buy (definitely I am buying only from the gray market). I want to know: Which one to buy NTSC-J or the PAL PS3. Reason I am confused is I dont know how easy it is to get the NTSC-J or PAL games again in the gray market. They are priced the same or PAL's are cheaper. Also, I feel PAL is better to go with as it will be in the same region as ours, so I can watch DVD movies, BD movies from the same region, which should be easy to get as well as cheaper. Otherwise, I would just be using the PS3 for gaming and movies would be way to expensive and hard to get????!!!! I wont be using all the capabilities of the PS3 much, being able to do such much at good quality!!!! Bangalore guys Please help me where all I can find the gray ones, I know National market, sukh sagar mall?? then where else guys, and how much is it quoting now, do I need to bargain? Also, I would like to buy 1-2 games to start with where I can get good game collection for good price.... Waitin for replies....!!! Thanks. ============================= Require you guys help in deciding which one to buy and why..!!! Thanks in advance cheers!
Hot-Drake-Pixel
@cc78: I think gray market models would be NTSC units only. region coding of games dont matter as games are region free. hence need not worry at all. Ask one question at a time to get better response. Its hard to go thru such a big post and reply one by one.
Daedalus
how much will the 40 GB cost in the grey market??
Tyler
The last time I checked it was 20K here. In Mumbai it'll be cheaper. I would have already bought a legit 40GB by now if it had backward compatibility...
Daedalus
still confused between getting legit or grey due to the recent SODs, i hope its limited to the older 60 gb version only

They are priced the same or PAL's are cheaper. PS3 games are region free....u cna play NTSC and PAL games on any PS3....NTSC-J games are cheaper Also, I feel PAL is better to go with as it will be in the same region as ours, so I can watch DVD movies, BD movies from the same region, which should be easy to get as well as cheaper. the blu ray movie collection in india is extremely limited....you're better off getting an NTSC-J as it can play US blu rays as well ( and theyre cheaper if you have a CC and can order from Amazon and other US e-tailers) Well all of this is pretty pointless because the answer to your question of PAL vs NTSC-J doesnt arise....AFAIK, you dot get grey market PAL consoles...it doesnt make sense to sellers to sell PAL systems coz theyre more expensive...even if you can find a PAL PS3 ur better off getting an NTSC-J....for regular DVDs u can use your regular DVD player and you can get Blu Rays much cheaper from the US than here in India once u buy a PS3 and need games, have a look in the trading post....u might get a used game at a good price....i have UT3 for sale for Rs 1800 peace Thanks for the reply and help. So NTSC-J is better to buy. Is NTSC-J and NTSC-US same? Is there any difference? Are you still able to get the PS3 60GB in gray market in bangalore?? Chaztin
Reaper is from Bangaluru and he has 2 PS3s so I supposes PS3 are very low priced and available in lots there ^^. btw NTSC-J is for Japan version and U is for US version.
