Well I will be opening a online gaming rental store in about a month.Since a chunk of my sales will come from here( if it does),I would really like to hear the opinion of my to-be (hopefully) customers.

P.S.The rates will be the lowest in the market and the quality the highest. So you dont have to worry about the prices and the quality. Also I will be putting up weekely/monthly prizes like a xbox/ps controller, game disks, special discounts for IVG members and even a console. Will surely try to put up a console sooner or later.Promise.:D

There are some topics which I really want an opinion on :

1)What platform do you want the games for?

PS3/Xbox 360/Wii/PSP/PC?

2)What payment method suits you?

Credit/Debit Card/Cash On Delivery/Any other please specify

3)How many days do you think you would like to keep the games for ,since only one game will provided at a time(to begin with)?

Please give your useful suggestions, brickbats and comments..Everything invited.

1. Both PS3 and xbox

2. Card/COD (if u can do COD it helps)

3. 15 days to 1 month per game

4. It is needed that u include 2 way shipping while fixing cost per game rental...

5. Collection should be updated with all new games for sure and majority of old games.

6. How many copies u plan to maintain of each game?

just 2 my paisa :)

1) PS3

2) Cash on deleivery will be the only option for me since i dont have a credit card

3) I think you should keep the rent time to low like maybe 7 days with the option to rerent the game if we like the game. This will lower the cost for both you and allow you to price it lower and be more attractive for customers to rent for the lower price compared to what they might have to pay for a months time. That way if cutomers dont like the game they dont have to keep it too long and also some people just get done with the game in 2-3 days.

3. 7 days is fine

Also, give an option to buy the game if someone likes it !

Thanks for the response.

The shipping will indeed be two way and included in the rental.

Collection will surely be updated and will try to get the games not available in India

I plan to keep to atleast 2 copies of the popular titles to begin with.Wat say?

1.PS3

2.cash on delivery

3.I would like to differ here and say that the rental should be unlimited, many people (like me) like to complete games at their own pace :)

The unlimited time thing needs to be considered and worked out coz if a new title releases then there will be huge demand for it and practically speaking I cant keep 20 copies of the same game.Let's see.I'll try including that option, sooner or later.:)

Your third option sounds interesting. This can be really considered.Thanks..:)

one more suggestion- maybe you can have different pricing for games based on when they were relaesed. New hot releases will be wanted by everyone and you will have a hard time getting enough copies to satisfy demand - but old games will be in low demand should be priced lower then hot new relases in my opnion.

1) PS3! Though it will be better for you to have games for both PS3 and Xbox. Or maybe start with just one console and see how things go from there.

2) Debit card, cash on delivery.

3) Max of one month. It's up to you if you want to put a limit on number of games that you can borrow in a month for some fixed fee. Different plans etc etc

I hope you do understand that to retain/expand your customer base you will have to update collection frequently, provide good customer support, charge reasonable price, and please don't ask for high refundable security deposit.

i would recommend getting used copies of games that do not release here or not that attractive for ppl to play from shop2 or something and if demand runs low after a few days sell them at a good price on ivg for eg games like dragon ball z ppl will buy fr 1000 not more so after 5-7 ppl have played u hav rcovered ur money and gained atleasst something selling it will add tio ur profit

and ppl who want to purchase this rare/ not released game will benifit and this will add 2 ur good will

thats not possible mate...

@OP:

u can have 1 month rent period and an extra fees (say 50 bucks or something) to extend it to another 15 days....just a rough idea though ;)

I will be giving the game for atleast a period of 10-15 days.IMO 1 month seems too long.

You can borrow any number of games. But the thing that is to be decided is how many games you can keep at a time.IMO 1-2 games are enough. What is your opinion?

The deposit will be less then every other player in the market and I will try to keep it as low as possible. What according to you is a reasonable deposit considering the games cost anywhere from 2.5k to 3.5k+?
