KnackChap
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'Saawariya' to Blu-ray on March 11th, day-and-date with the DVD release. It will be presented in 2.40 1080p and in its original Hindi soundtrack. The only extra announced for the release so far is a "Making of the Music" TV special. In the tradition of international co-productions like "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", this film is the highly anticipated first release by Sony Pictures of the traditional and widely popular Indian "Bollywood" genre. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic romance "Saawariya" (Beloved) is a tender and romantic musical which centres around the chance encounter of two people Raj and Sakina and their obsession with each other over four successive nights. "Saawariya" is a contemporary story about the immortal emotion - love, with the unmistakable imprint of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film will have unprecendented wide releases in major countries outside of India. source- (blu-ray.com)

MarketTantrik
LOL, Saawariya on Blu Ray. Sony will lose more money on the production of this movie on Blu Ray than it will ever hope to recoup from its sales. This, in addition to the huge loss Sony has already made on the flick's theatrical release. But still, you have to applaud them for taking such bold risks in the Indian market. THE DIRECTOR
^ maybe in the Indian market, but its gonna sell like hot cakes in the UK, and i mean hot cakes. bollywood do amazingly well in the UK. and plus, Black has been on top 50 DVD list in oxford street for nearly 7 months. so Saawariya on Blu-Ray is going to sold out for sure................... well in Europe anyways. Not just europe, but north america, middle east and singapore. Bollywood is huge there and some bollywood content on BLU will certainly be well accepted. unfortunately, indian market is very different and BLU is yet to catch up here. many buyers are even not aware of this format. Sawaria is definitely going to bring attention to BLU format even though it's not gonna sell like a hot cake in india.
THE DIRECTOR
^ QFTMFT i only vouched for the Europe as i've see the absolute mayhem, when a new bollywood movie is released. even though bollywood movies never go on sale and also the price lingers between £17 - £30, but still sell out like crazy.
