Big Boss
I thought that kind of leveling system died with oblivion ! Does skyrim work in the same way ? Yes. If you are at level 30 with your smithing, sneaking, lock picking, etc get ready to be raped by similar level enemies. So its better to level up some offensive abilities along with non-offensive ones.
WhiteWolf
My one handed and Destruction skills are 100 now, If i use one handed weapons or destruction magic during combat then i won't get any skill points to level up...I have no choice but to use Two handed weapons in combat now :|......I hate two-handed weapons..... MarketTantrik
^^ I've maxed out Smithing and have got my One handed skill at 70+ with dual wielding bonuses. Coupled with Dragon armor, I laugh in the face of giants and mammoths. Now to forge Daedric armor and max out the One Handed skill. I'm also pumping every level up into Stamina to carry teh lootz. abhi90
my one handed is nearing 60-70 methinks will look to increase smithing by another 5-10 levels today, let's see what luck has in store for me today off to try my lycanthropy against the giant I'm just a meek level 23 warrior who has put about 45 hours into the game
Ne0
^^ lol, and here I was trying to bring down a mammoth at level 6 Edited January 16, 2012 by Ne0
abhi90
^^ I had even attempted that one, and I attempted to kill 2 mammoths and a giant that roam near whiterun Used my power that makes the opponent flee for 30 seconds and pummeled the giant within that time, also captured it's soul, smithing and enchanting both are 70+ and reached level 26. Time to upgrade my weapons and armor the next time though there's one thing that's troubling me, even if I use a petty gem or a greater gem, the number of charges on the enchanted weapon cary, like from 10 to 100, but the damage remains the same, why so? Big Boss
How to increase Smithing levels? I am stuck at 29. My heavy armor is already at 80+, one handed above 85, lock picking above 50, destruction is 58 and few others above 35. Current level at 29. ScrewyAurum
Smithing, one of the easiest way and not really that boring is to go to dwemer ruins with a companion (help in combat + mule ) stock up on the drawen scraps, use a smelter at a smiths forge to melt them into drawen ingots, get some leather strips and keep making drawen bows then sell them, rinse and repeat, not only will your smithing increase this way but also some other traits, (maxed out smithing and two handed this way and lvled up heavy armor, restoration and archery almost to 100 also you can find cool sh*t in those ruins) if you wanna just spam your way to 100 you can just stock up on iron ingots and strips and keep making iron daggers and sell them...(losers choice)
MoonStruckHorrors
How to increase Smithing levels? I am stuck at 29. My heavy armor is already at 80+, one handed above 85, lock picking above 50, destruction is 58 and few others above 35. Current level at 29. Spam iron daggers! Every forge owner sells Iron Ingots & Leather stripes. Just forge them, wait two days, buy more ingots/stripes.. Rinse & repeat. Tip 1 : If you're like me & capture every soul around(I have 100+ filled soul gems with me all the time), enchant the daggers with "Sends the Daedra back to oblivion" enchantment. Atleast 200+ profit on each dagger. Tip 2 : Invest with the Riverwood trader. His gold increases to 12000. Perfect place to sell a whole bunch of enchanted daggers. Tip 3 : If you don't capture souls, do it. Just for the awesome sound/visual effect.

MoonStruckHorrors
How to capture soul? BTW thanks for the tips, screwy and moonstruck. Sould trap - "If it dies in <x> seconds, fills a soul gem" Buy the soul trap spell, cast it on a <creature> & kill it within 60 seconds OR get the soul trap enchantment for a weapon. Go with the spells since the soul traps casted by weapon enchantment usually last for 10-12 seconds max. For all the creatures(troll, giant, fox, wolf, etc.), normal soul gems are required. For humans, a black soul gem is required. To recharge an enchanted weapon, select it in the inventory. There should be an option to recharge it in the bottom. 'T' for PC. Also, the bigger they are, the larger soul gem they fill.

Irredeemable
Defeated Alduin for the first time. Loved the whole thing with the Elder Scroll Im still at the burial mound where alduin flies in, and rises one of his dragons. That was the first part of the game i played with my 7.1 headphones on.. and I must say I was blown away at the quality of the dragons voice! Any of you guys got the stuttering issues yet?
