hi guys, I'm new to this forum. cant wait to get skyrim, wondering whether to get ps3 or pc.

what do you guys recommend

One of the main reasons why PC would be a better choice, apart from the visuals, is mod support. If you've ever played Oblivion with mods you'll know what I mean. However I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of bugs and other general issues at launch. Something that may get patched later and the UI as usual will be difficult to navigate. Also bear in mind that the game was designed with consoles in mind. It's not a PC RPG anymore. I don't remember the exact figures but there's a huge gap between the preorder numbers for the PC and consoles.

That said if you have a capable PC - get the PC version. I'm sure the mod community will fix and largely improve the game in coming months.

BTW I hope the game starts preloading on Steam today.

This is Elder Scrolls... what's there to spoil?

You take on a obligatory mission to save the world and then completely forget about it and mess around for a year. Then a new expansion/DLC comes out and you mess around some more. Then you install some mods and you mess around even more.

Oh, if I had only known this a few years back :|

Gave up on Morrowind after 15 mins of gameplay :(

So..apparently, the SKyrim guide can teach you the dragon language:

Back of the Book: Finally, the last part of this tome is dedicated to Appendices, where all the important tables of collectibles are shown, along with every Achievement and Trophy (as well as advice on how to obtain every reward). A Dragon Language Glossary enables you to decipher Word Walls, and learn dozens of phrases and translate them into English, and there’s a nine-page, 2000+ term Index, so you can quickly search for a person or quest (for example), and find the appropriate page in seconds. I’m particularly happy we’ve got an index this time too, as it makes the game world eminently more searchable, and the guide a vital part of your adventuring.

So while we're waiting, what race/build are you guys creating for your first playthrough?

I'll probably go with a ranged character this time. Maybe a Dark Elf Ranger using bows and daggers. Ranged attacks should help while taking down the dragons.

If not that then a Nord warrior with heavy armor and dual swords/axes. :dwarf:
