ColorCodePurple
I just discovered this game on youtube Infinity features an advanced procedural engine allowing for a seemingly infinite galaxy of unique star systems and planets to discover and explore, including seamless planetary landing. Infinity offers new and existing players an extensive storyline following the complex and often intricate political and social interactions of hundreds of corporations, organizations, and reputation groups through the games three primary factions: the Centauran, the Deltan Federation, and the Star Fold Confederacy. Seamless planetary engine: The Infinity engine features a completely seamless experience. You can fly in space and land on planets, traveling directly from deepest ranges of space to the rolling hills and sharp mountainous peaks of a distant planet fluidly, without any loading screens, timer bars, or unnatural transitions. If you can see it, you can fly to it ! Official Site OMG The prototype (a demo of sorts) he Infinity Combat Prototype (latest version: 2.2.a) is a standalone game that has been released and improved upon the past months, as a way to test many components of Infinity before it is finished. This is a completely separate program that only shares the engine. It does not represent what you will find in Infinity. Its goal is, namely, to test: the graphics engine, the physics engine, the networking engine, experiment with controls / combat mechanics / balance, to improve stability/fix bugs and measure/stress performance. The combat prototype is not meant to have a deep gameplay; do not expect any form of planetary landing. 10 ships are available to the players. The gameplay is arena (team vs team) based, while Infinity will be a fully open "sandbox" type of game.
praveer
A thread isn't necessary for a something like this which might never get released. Its in development since 2005 (or was it 2004) and the best the developer has done till date is make that video. Nothing related to the game has materialized not even the concepts or its structure, even the devs don't know what they are going for outside of the fact that its supposed to be a Space simulation MMO. Moreover if it has been on development for so long, the developer would be even more reluctant to drop it in the end.

That's not a working version, that was just an engine stressing software released in 2006 and probably has nothing to do with the game. The Infinity Combat Prototype (latest version: 2.2.a) is a standalone game that was released in may of 2006 and improved upon until July 2007 as a way to test some components of Infinity before it is finished. It is a completely separate program that only shares the engine, and as such it does not represent what is to be found in Infinity. Its goal is, namely, to test the graphics engine, the physics engine, and the networking engine, and to experiment with its controls, combat mechanics and balance. Its goal is also to improve stability/fix bugs and measure/stress performance. The combat prototype does not include any form of planetary landing, and only ten ships are available to the players. The gameplay is arena (team vs team) based, as opposed to Infinity's intended open-ended, "sandbox" style of play.[13] All these people have done till date is go after the development of the game engine and leave everything else behind.
