PS3 PROBLEM

try this

STEP 1: switch on your ps3 however you can with HDMI(with your component/composite cable attched but not connected to your tv)

STEP 2: then go to display settings and change display output to component/composite(depending upon the cable as indicated in STEP 1)

STEP 3: within 30 secs switch to component/composite display output as explained on the screen

STEP 4: after changing the settings follow STEPS 1-3 to change back to HDMI from component/composite

another alternative is to switch display resolutions using an SD tv and your LCD tv, i.e, two seperate display devices by following STEPS 1-4

what are the resolutions listed in the XMB?

@pixel: i tested the HDD as u said,it works perfectly...no probs.Now what?? ;)

working on it bro

one thing for sure is that it doesn't sound like a problem with the flash chip on the mobo

cos if that were case then the ps3 just wouldn't boot even if the OS is corrupted

it works on the same principle as the psp and from experience i know this is the case after countless attempts at manually editing it's OS's resource files

nope, i did'nt have a warranty card, all they said was to register my warranty via internet . it requires a valid singapore address to register for a warranty . i didn't have one, so couldn't register. no problem there mate , i can register for a warranty now, provided a valid address.
