nameless
apart from rana10 and snake is there anyone else on the forum who has used the ps3 ONLY on an LCD tv ever since the day they bought it? Yeah. Used it on a 32" Samsung Bordeaux via HDMI before switching it to my Samsung 940BW 19" LCD monitor via HDMI-DVI converter. Does this count? I have used it on a 26" Sony Bravia LCD TV from day one.
reaper
so is the drive dead??also will a lappy hdd work?? it isnt that ur blu ray drive is dead.... the clicking sound of the blu ray drive is quite common..... mine makes it too.. ... it could be that there is some connection problem between the HDD and the PS3 ... (since the HDD works well on the Comp .)

AtheK
read this @snake: it has to be some issue with hard drive and interface between ps3 how it connects.... The three beep is a clear indication.....it is related to memory.... if only we can get you a sample HDD somehow.....

Snake
The system will only ask u for a format after it goes to the XMB correct,so i will just let it sit there and see if it shuts down again!
