And then I ran into Origin and for many days my dream of playing it remained just that, a dream. All thanks to Origin. Finally someone suggested I download the torrent release and just use my 100% legal key for activating multiplayer. And voila! I don't think I did a wrong thing there but it would've been a much straightforward method if Origin had better downloading capabilities. Then there were the huge patches required before I could play. Again, torrents bailed me out. With all the money invested in developing games, why can't they have a more robust downloader. Something along the lines of what Steam is today (though I'm sure its initial days would've echoed a similar story). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yesterday I thought of giving Origin a last try and sure enough the download reached 1.9gigs a minute ago and next time I checked there was no errors nothing.. it had simply vanished. Make a backup your Update folder every couple of hours, If the download resets then quit Origin and paste the backup into the Battlefield folder and run origin again. Hopefully it will resume from where it stopped .. worked for me with the first patch. This dint work.. I had backed up while the download was at 1.9gigs. Every time I restore it, the download resumes from 294MB. Downloading the patch directly from the RS links.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The update automatically starts downloading.. Any charitable person here willing to burn the update on a dvd for me and ship it to Bangalore?
