Forget Vardaan,

Its fancy i bought from,

i bought my GBA and PS2 from one of those shops,

i can give u the no. and the address if u want,

they sell the wii for 22k and games for 300rs.,

if u buy the wii, i recommend u to download games rather than buying 'em at 300,

WiiScrubber (a software) is there which decompresses the games and many games are under 1gb (though it can range from 100 mb to 4 gb)

 

for the list u can go here and see the list

Do please give me the no. of the shop. Will they give me a discount if I mention your name? :P

Btw, this Wii that they sell...is it modded or does that cost extra? (I'm assuming modding is essential to play downloaded games)

Lol...:D Well, I pay them that even if I buy just four to five games. If you're gonna buy so many of them, I would say he should reduce the price even more :(

 

Oh and I just read that you're gonna be in Delhi. The price I told you was of Mumbai greymarket price from specific wholesale dealers. Am not sure how much you'll get them in Delhi but yeah the price shouldn't differ much :D

Yeah...no problem. You can go ahead and update your Wii to the latest update, which is 3.2, and its been confirmed that it doesn't block any modchips, etc. ;)

As of now, there is no way to convert it all into English. Also, just so you know, Nintendo is making most of their games region coded from now on, aka previously it was possible to boot up NTSC/US games on a NTSC/J console and vice versa (not PAL mind it) but in some of the latest games like Super Mario Galaxy, its not at all possible to boot/play a NTSC/US (English version) on an NTSC/J console, so people who bought a modded Japanese console are essentially stuck now and cannot play a backed up or original copy of Super Mario Galaxy on their Jap Wii's. Their only option is to play the Jap version of that particular game, which sucks :P

 

So yeah, you're better of sticking to the US version, unless you know Japanese :bandit:

 

MAJOR UPDATE GUYS...

 

Latest update for Wiikey has been released :D Here's what the readme file says...

 

WiiKey Update 1.9s

 

This is a cumulative update for wiikey, fixing a few bugs and adding some new features.

 

Bugs fixed

-----------

 

- Issue with original Super Smash Bros Brawl discs not working fixed

- It should now not be possible to render the chip inoperable by using patched config discs

 

New features

--------------

 

- DVD update blocker: A new config option to block system updates from DVD. This

prevents the Wii from loading a system update for another region.

- Dev Mode: Remaps drive debug commands from 0xFx to 0x2x

The 1.9s config disc is not yet available from the official website but is contained in the above rapidshare link as it was released by the Wiikey team at Wiinewz. :)

 

Am gonna try out this latest update when I reach home :wOOtjumpy: and post here of the results :D

 

Edit: The above rapidshare link RAR file contains update discs and config discs of all the three regions, i.e., US, PAL, and Jap. Just burn the disc that correlates to the region of your Wii console and update :bandit:

Well, it all depends on you whether you want a legit one or a modded one. If you want cheaper games, then get the modded one, although your Wii's warranty will get void, but AFAIK, Wii's hardware is quite stable unlike the 360, so you run very little risk of a broken Wii, etc (unless of course if you drop it :D)

 

As far as online play goes, I have absolutely no idea as I don't have internet at my home just yet :) but with all the online Brawl gaming that I've been reading about, my guess would be that its pretty good. Also, AFAIK, backup Wii games work just fine online :wOOtjumpy:

 

About your questions....

 

1. Wiikey is a first generation modchip, and yes it comes "loaded/installed" on a modded Wii but Wiikeys only work on earlier Wiis which had the drivechip DMS, D2A, and D2B, which was just a 5-wire install, but if you buy a Wii now, you'll most definitely get a Wii with drivechip D2C, and only the latest generation modchips like Wasabi, D2CKey, D2Pro, Aragon can be installed on it, and they work just like the first generation modchips :bandit: If you can get your hands on a Wasabi modchip, then it would be great, coz its one of the best :D

 

2. Yes.

 

3. Yes. The fear of bricking or semi-bricking a Wii should only arise if you put an out of region game in your Wii and it installs an out of region Wii update. It's always recommended to play games that are the same as your Wii's region :bandit:
