It was the first purchase on my system and by god I did not regret the decision one bit. if you feel that you need a filler on the back story it will make sense to download the encyclopedia on the psn (75 mb free download).I had no freaking clue what was going on but by the end of it I had to pick up my jaw from the floor. Video game as a story telling medium rarely transcends the boundaries of legitimate art but this game does just that and maybe more. You will have no clue what is going on in the first 2 chapters and frankly would be searching for the awesomeness as advertised on the cover. Hell I even played the first chapter akin john rambo but as the story gathers steam you will forget all the negative things being said here or else where.. playstation Posted January 14, 2011 Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 WTF!!! the climax for mgs4 was awsome , and it had u thinking that this was going to be the 'last' MGS game and the fans were in tears for that. Wouldnt be the same if they knew that 3 more mgs games would be coming i nthe next couple of years Lot of time has passed ....i think fans are open to accept more MGS game specially if they are as awesome as mgs peace walker ...then i dont see why we should not....and btw i think MGS4 was not end of the series but more so end of Snake....though he may no longer return as a field operative but may be in some other role...whatever it is ...his legacy is going to live on forever. praveer Posted January 15, 2011 Report Share Posted January 15, 2011 Well a serious answer then. 1 and 2 are bland as games can be. 3 is the only game in the series that has decent gameplay and at least a semblance of restraint when it comes to story telling. 4 goes back into the territory of 1 and 2. Â So all in all if you like good games with good gameplay then 3 is the only one worth getting into. More so even than 4. Â 4 by itself doesnt make a lick of sense if you have no idea what the story/characters are all about (hell even with 1, 2 and 3 it still makes almost minimal sense to me but I digress). And the core gameplay in 4 is not nearly good enough to make you sit through the game if the story makes no sense.
