If you are on a treasure hunt, the main villains goons are always in the area which you have just discovered. The funny thing main villain is also searching for the same treasure...

also...villains always tend to be present in the newest and the hardest of the area(for u to reach) u have just uncovered...

You are bound to run into a character named 'Sam' in every 3 games you encounter :wallbash:

1) There will always be a red explosive item next to the enemies..

2) The places you can climb depends on the level designer.. In some places you can climb big walls in others you can't even jump over a small boulder..

3) There will be better weapons lying next to the enemy but he will never pick it up and shoot at you.. That's for you to kill him.

Even undiscovered lands will have ammunition for modern weapons.

Radio communication is crystal clear in World War II amidst explosions and gunfire.

Your party member will ALWAYS block your shot / spell / arrow. (Oblivion is the worst offender ever).

Friendly fire isn't.

whenever there is an intergalactic situation, humans will always be on the heroic sides and will play an eminent (read godlike) part in the solution

whenever there is an alien attack/a deadly virus, Americans are the only people who will save the world from everything without ever even asking for help or even communicating with other countries (Hollywood as well)

the human protagonist can fly/operate all of the alien machinery flawlessly and he will destroy everything single-handedly although the whole of human army together could not do it for years

the protagonist hardly ever communicates barring status updates but has badass one-liners for all situations

the protagonist hardly ever smiles (Drake and The Prince excepted :) )

in shooters the protagonist, however badass he looks, hardly knows how to punch, if he runs out of ammunition he knows just a few, like very few arm and leg (?) movements although he's like this really highly rated soldier

 

Fighting Games: almost all the main characters will have an alter ego/nemesis at some time, how to fit that in the story ?, well where is the story anyways :)

1. You might be the most powerful bulldozer, but you need a key to open the ancient creaky wooden door.

2. You can kill the most powerful enemies around, but you cannot remove that small pot of plant in the way, and have to take a detour.

3. You never run out of gas

4. You can run around carrying a shitload of weapons in your undergarments.

How can we forget the most common gaming feature,Your health recovers automatically in many games like COD etc. etc..

* You never have to eat food

* you wear the same cloth over and over again.. even in sequels.. hello nathan drake..

* The crowd is usually cut out of cardboard pieces (2D)

* No one ever notices the character's shoes..

People people people...the things which you are mentioning aren't 'Obvious stuff'

 

The discussion is about things that are predictable and you see them coming from miles away, regenerating health and stuff like that aren't something that you'd talk about here.

-- In the beginning of the game, you will be coming from another place(Most of the GTA games) or returning home.

-- Some unforeseen horror which waited till you arrive will come into picture

 

-- Even if you are a badass SOB, one lady NPC will weaken ur heart. :exoticdance:

-- No matter how hard you try, the first weapon you find will be a melee weapon.

 

-- Even if you had just killed 1000 lackeys in a place, when you backtrack all will be back. :ranting:
