Hey guys,

I've been offered to move to the Gurgaon branch of the company I work for at a higher post aswell.......... The main problem I would face is the accommodation there bcoz my company is not offering any sort of accommodation..... <_< All other things, I can manage on my own........ So, I wanted to know what options are available there.....?????? Is it like in Mumbai where we can stay as a Paying-Guest (PG).....????? Or do we have to rent our own places only........??????

Here's the address of the company:-

FIS Global

No 226 Udyog Vihar Phase 1 Gurgaon, India 122016

Any help, ideas or suggestions would be highly appreciated......... :)

Thanks in advance........ :)

Welcome to Gurgaon Polash, B)

Well you can have both rent based accomodation aswell as PG's.

Between where is your company located in Gurgaon? You will surely want a place near your work place, coz public transport is shite in Gurgaon.

Metro is there, but still not fully connected to all the areas of gurgaon. But yes from Gurgaon to Delhi, its the best mode of travel.

You can find all sorts of options, i.e., staying as a PG, staying in your own rented place, or sharing a rented place with others. There are also "hostels" which are a bit less than the PGs (or more, depending on how you see them).

I haven't been in Gurgaon for almost 3-4 years now, so can't help with exact addresses/phones. But if you can give your budget and approx location within gurgaon, i can ask some friends..

My only advice would be to make sure you place your food orders by 11pm coz you won't get jack after that.

It is not like Mumbai :(

Other than that, like others above me suggested....you can go for either according to your budget and convenience :P

Gurgaon :samui:

First of all, make sure that you own a vehicle preferably four wheeler as prakhar mentioned public transport is sh*t there...

and try to stay in an apartment. yes, it will be a bit on higher side but you will live peacefully.

and get ready to face extremes in terms of climate...

This.. If you can afford it (even if you have to stretch a bit). Gurgaon is otherwise a thief heaven. So, staying in an apptt will give u some protection. Also, your own vehicle will again protect you a bit at least against the lesser gundas who loot you on the road (For bigger gundas, even car won't help as they can stop you at gunpoint in broad day light in the middle of the road)

@Django: What happened there that still haunts you....?????? Was it the incident with the eunuchs......?????? :naughty:

enunch wala incident to Choron ka Raja ke saath hua tha and that too in Delhi... watever is explained by Shantz I also heard, luckily I haven't faced that.

I didn't like Gurgaon for many reasons... First of all, I didn't get an apartment there.. I used to stay in an independent house, so social circle was zero... My office environment was also not good there.. People were more rough and they used to talk to you as if they were doing some kind of big favour...

public infrastructure pathetic as explained before...

My son was also not well for most of the time we were there in Gurgaon..

So if you have an apartment, a four wheeler, and a girl, nothing beats like that... Moreover Bulovski is there, a great guy

In most gurgaon apartments, social circle becomes -1 :P. No one cares or even knows who is their immediate neighbor.

BTW, first advice that I received from a close friend when I first landed in gurgaon: "If anything happens in gurgaon (like any traffic incident, or anything that can lead to an argument), don't stop, or say sorry and get the hell out of there even if you are the victim"

+1 to the advice.

If you have a kid, I feel staying in an apartment helps out a lot and also makes life more easier as compared to staying in an independent house.

+100

avoid arguements even if you are right :P ...if your company is providing you pickup and drop then its fine, otherwise that can seriously be a headache...

would suggest you get a apartment...later on if you find a good friend at workplace you can share it also with him, that can reduce you the costs...and whenever you share ever in future make sure that person has the same job timings as your, because i have suffered really bad due to this...saving a few penny but making life hell
