I am from IImcom. It's useless. Isse acha padne ka hi nahi.

I am from IIMC

I actually got into IIMA and was confused regarding whether I should join straight away or defer.

Ended up putting applying for defer, let's see if it's approved or not. Otherwise will probably withdraw and give CAT again couple of years down the line.

Some of my friends who scored above 740 in gmat have done the same. Mba is a once in a lifetime experience and its most important aspect is making your network and connections. Ones who were sure they'll easily get into ISB especially didn't want to spend 35 lakh on a degree where half or even full of their course would be done on ZOOM.

Yeah, that's what I thought. A couple of my friends who joined last year will probably end up with a degree without ever stepping foot in the campus.

Might as well give GMAT later and look for better colleges.

After 15 years in IT, I am now in Tech lead position. I am not seeing a clear path for my growth going forward. My Manager is pushing me to stay in technical side (Architect/IT specialist) and not go in Management side (Project Manager etc). So he is pushing me to do Azure/AWS Architect certification. But without using the learning in anyway in my current role, I don't understand what is the point of simply getting the certification. Moreover, in my currently role I don't have Management experience apart from low level managing aspects. So, is it better to do technical certification and became architect (which I don't like)? OR do executive management course/PMP and go to management side (which again I don't like due to the amount of politics involved). Any advice from experts?

First ask yourself in what you want to be, say 5-10 years from now.  If you have an aptitude for solving problems, choose technical path.

Architects in software field usually get problems at a very high level where information is sparse, ambiguity is high and multiple stakeholders are involved.  Your job would be to resolve ambiguities, discuss/convince stakeholders to agree to your proposal and drive solutions keeping in mind the cost/resources and timelines.

To do all these, you need to have an aptitude for solving problems, discussing and getting information from people, keeping yourself up-to-date on evolving tech , and so on.

Choosing something because your manager said or what your company wants or what your friend is doing, will not take you far in your career, unless it aligns with your aptitude.

Hey guys,

How to use linkedin premium for its full usage to get jobs at product base companies?I recently got it to apply for jobs.
I tried messaging the recruiters personally to get referral. What are other methods?

I am a btech cse fresher from tier 3 college out of college trying to get response via linkedin
Anyone has any experience with that.

Best option is to directly cold-call (contact via LinkedIn) the recruiters who have posted a job you are interested in.

Don't ask the recruiters for a referral because they are the ones who will be evaluating you in the first place, so just send them a msg stating what your interests, expertise etc are and that you would like to apply for the said job. Share you CV if they are interested.

Ask for a referral only from the employees which are actually in a related post.

But referrals don't really work nowadays because employees are giving them by boatloads because of the kickback they get in case it turns into a successful hiring.

So I would suggest to look for recruiters mostly and the people who are actually putting up the job posts.

Other than that, there isn't much you can do.

All the best!

Other than linkedin i am unable to get response from normal fresher software engineering jobs. How do i get more response even when i apply from naukri.com or such similar websites?Which website is best to get a IT job asap

Not from IT field but have been working since long time and have worked with IT people on executing multiple projects over the years (in an upper mid level management position), from my experience Naukari never works, rarely you will get calls from recruiters otherwise its just a CV bank you are depositing your CV into. Even Naukari has a paid feature where your profile is featured in related fields when recruiters search for a position , if you are using Naukari then better use that at least your profile will be at top of the search.

Best is to directly contact recruiters on LinkedIn or message the seniors or some one in a position of authority in the company/division you are working on ( just make sure he is in the related field/branch), if they want you or if they consider your profile then it will be a really fast process.

or you can try to seek out alumni from your college and contact them to see what you can get? Their must be someone who can help you in your alumni network of college, if there is no formal alumni network, just search for people from your college on FB and LinkedIn and try to get in touch, if they reply back and help then that's another option for your

But the problem is linkedin gives only 8 credits per month for premium which means in 1 month you can only message 8 recruiters who are not in your connection.I messaged few of them and they didnt reply.I bought linkedin premium for job but it has become completely useless for me.The 1,4k/month price isnt justified.

I doubt that paid services by job portals ever work efficiently and are worth it.

if i recall correctly if the person replies back you get your credits refunded. I can't comment about efficiency of paid services because never used Naukari and LinkedIn is about professional networking with job feature as added bonus . I have used premium and found it quite useful to expand my network and get in touch with people who were outside my field. Just be hopeful and keep searching, something will turn up, all the best
