You should also try Lancaster University, Cardiff, Aston also. Mind you, there are two universities in Manchester. check out Financial times ranking, they were out last week. I have passed on UK bro. Anyway thanks Hey Legend, I know the Owner of this Company. Study Abroad She can help you. If you want, I can connect you to her. They specialize in admission for UK Universities. Hey thanks but i decided to skip UK. Give your GMAT as well if you are looking to pursue business education in the UK. Currently i have decided on Netherlands (The Hague University) - In there you just need IELTS which i am going to take after a few days.. ColorCodePurple
In the midst of giving bunch of university exams but hard to figure out if they are worth my time. I ma giving AIEEE of course but I am also giving Bharati Vidyapeeth, VEL-TECH (and have given VITEEE ) Its really confusing to decide if the university is good or not,Wikipedia articles in genral seem to give the impression that the university is the best in the orld Bharati Vidyapeeth for instance is a deemed university (Which I dont know is good or bad) it seems to have a good infrastructure and education but only a 56% placement rate (Which is not good I guess?) Also what chances do non-Maharashtrians have on getting into Maharashtra Institute of Technology or COEP through MHT-CET? I am about to shift there so am really keen on the colleges there, specially the ones above.
Zeehunter
MIT and COEP in one sentence Best colleges in Maharashtra are COEP , PUNE and VJTI , Mumbai .. MIT is nowhere near them . Bharti Vidyapeeth is deemed .. Avoid it unless you have no chance Infrastructure plays no role . Teachers and self study does In medical 15% seats are reserved for non maharashtrians .. Dunno about Engineering Confirm the college ranks from the seniors or teachers .. The info on the net is vague .
ColorCodePurple
Thanks I think the same (15%) is for engineering too. I wonder if there is any point in giving the CET for that measly 15% but a friend says that there is a 15% Management quota over and above this 15% and I might end up getting MIT even if COEP and the others are out of reach. Damn quotas Edited May 2, 2012 by ColorCodePurple

Damn quotas This 15% quotas are none in front of 50% caste based reservations U don't have management quota in COEP AFAIK .. U do have it in MIT and VIT . VIT is another good college in Pune And why are you trying for Pune ?? It's a f**ked up place .. If you are coming to Maharashtra then check your options in Mumbai colleges .. Best place for education but slightly costly I myself stayed in Pune for 2 years and in Mumbai for an year .. Mumbai is way much better with better localites and is much friendly for outsiders
Mizanurification
Im thinking of pursuing animation course and complete my graduation in B.A. Hons. Atleast animation is interesting. In engineering i wanted to drop out after 1st year, the schedule was that tight and the course boring. I decided to continue because who is to say the other course i would have opted for could not have been be tougher? Animation wont be tedious but managing english honours and animation together will be a real PITA. Hopefully i wont get dropped into Pass Course. Not bad.. All the best for your Animation Programme..Do well, make a nice show-reel, participate in events (like if you were in MAAC- 24FPS was an awesome platform) and you won't have to worry about placement. Specialize in something that you are very good at. I used to struggle with the talent in hair &fur animation, even lighting and modelling. Choose your stream well and you will do good. Zeehunter
The problem is a lot of them recover it fast precisely because they feel the need to make up the money spent on education. If you spend nearly a crore or even more these days (if you're unable to get in the college of your choice by merit alone) you'd bloody well tell every patient you get "Do Surgery tomorrow or you'll die today" rather than try to treat them conservatively. Hospitals are a business these days, especially big corporate ones. There's a lot of rotten stuff happening there that you'd think unbecoming of a doctor. I know cos I've lived with and heard about it all my life from a doctor who keeps trying to remain ethical and say "I earn this much a month, that's enough for me". He of course started off long long ago when the profession was still more of a service than a way to make big money and established himself back then. If you have that "service" attitude you won't start off making big money anywhere these days. The rest of the pack will stab you in the back or you'll keep providing that service to humanity and remain a decent-but-not-big earner when compared to all the engineers and managers who'll keep raising their pay grade all the while. Instead of spending so much if the guy just puts in more and studies he will end up in a good government medical college The fees of my government college is 50,000 per year .. I stay in a separate rented room of 5k per month While on the other hand those people who waste their life by bunking classes and f**king girls are surely going to end up paying hell of money I have friends who payed 40 lakhs just as a donation plus fees extra which is 7 lakhs per year just for MBBS degree Only God will save them for PG , Super specialization TBH, I really don't know why I'm studying for the PG exams any more. Recently sat for Manipal/HIHT and a couple of more private colleges. In my centre there were hardly 150 students. And most of the exams I sat for had centres only in Delhi, that too 4-5 in number. So 600- 750 in all sat for that particular private college exam. Know the reason why ? Seats are already fixed. Nobody wants to give a sh*t about the exam. It's just another way of minting money by the college (3k for the form.. f**king stupidity !). And before people start ranting about the awesomeness of govt. colleges, I'll give you a simple example. Let's talk about BHU. A very prestigious () university for medical students. Now here's the division of seats: Just look at the seats division for General candidates under the BHU examination. They don't have seats for f**king Orthopaedics, Radiology, Paediatrics ! WTF man ! Seriously WTF !! Prestigious can kiss my a*s ! :| Don't post such things f**k this reservation Edited July 27, 2012 by MS - Nerd
