dante77
The thing in India is , if you have to get a degree from a good college then 1) You should either have a super rich dad 2) Or have a caste certificate Totally agree with that part. One of my friend who got about 20k (in State entrance) didn't get any good reputed college whole another of my SC friend got 90k+ rank and he got the best college with his choice of branch in lucknow. Bird Bird Bird
^^ Lol. When I gave my UP-PMT, there was a guy selected for MBBS in KGMU because he applied under Freedom Fighters quota. Guess his rank ? 90k out of 110k who wrote the exams ! :| Edited August 5, 2012 by Bird Bird Bird
dante77
90k and he was selected in KGMU I always thought medical line has the toughest competition even for those quota people.

Nemo
And you seem happy about it ? Wow ! What sick twisted person feels this way regarding their fellow students ? granted you are unhappy about them availing the quota system but tell me how are they (or anybody) at fault for using it to their advantage, when it's clearly there and legal to boot. Everyone amongst us would have used the quota if we were eligible for it. Those who say otherwise are either lying through their teeth or are stupid. So let's not all take the moral high ground. You are going to be a doctor Zee, please stop deriving pleasure out of others' misery.
Zeehunter
Other's misery my foot .. They don't deserve to be there in the first place Our current system is churning out incompetent doctors Damn people who couldn't even recognise Sartorius muscle in the finals Now just imagine you happen to visit this doctor I have every right to laugh on incompetent people .. If the shitty reservation didn't exist , I would have been in the best medical college in Maharashtra just on the basis of merit ..

Dude Nemo im not saying im happy that his classmates couldnt pass, but you gotta admit he has a point. I wouldn't want to be treated by a doctor who barely graduated nor would i want an incompetent engineer or architect to design bridges/houses. I think if you have been provided an incentive you should make the most of it rather than abusing it
Zeehunter
I am not abusing low caste people .. I am just abusing the incompetent people .. It's just a co-incidence that they happen to score less Now when a doctor gets a degree , there is no mention of his grades And MCI has done it very easy passing MBBS .. If you fail in 1st year U are kept 6 months back but from 2nd year onwards you get ATKT which means U just can't fail In my college , no students from reserved category got a distinction infact no one is even in Top 10 Edited September 8, 2012 by Zeehunter

I think if you have been provided an incentive you should make the most of it rather than abusing it I hate it when people generalize engineers as people who design/build bridges/houses .....as a matter of fact no one from my batch is doing that or is going to be doing that...now a days most engineers are sucked into the IT vortex. Somebody
Guys, since we're on the topic of engineers anyway .. I have an interview tomorrow for an Embedded Engineer position. I need to know general things about embedded c, interrupt service routines and all that. I do know how they work and everything, but is there any good resource online where I can brush up my knowledge? edit: never mind. I went through some interview questions and all that I found on google before the interview. The interview went well, and I'm expecting a job offer soon, but I don't wanna count my chickens yet Edited September 11, 2012 by Somebody
