Why aren't they including MGS4 in the remake?

Can you be more descriptive?

Everything from movement to shooting feels broken in the first two games. And it's not because the games are old. MGS2 controls are poor even by PS2 game standards. Tried playing them a few years ago on the PS2 before MGS4 came out. Stopped MGS2 after the first boss fight, and MGS1 I didn't even get that far. And I really wanted to, becuase I loved the story and the characters. MGS3 was much better because I played the Susbsistence (?) version, which had a third person view.

If they actually expect people to play these games on the PS3, they will have to rework the controls as well.

i can SOMEWHAT get your point .somewhat !! . because they both arent what youll call smooth . but on the other hand . i always felt they were realistic as hell. i mean in mgs2 there is not really a cross hair for first person shooting . and that felt great back then to me because in real life also you dont get floating crosshairs in air .

bro i definitely suggest you pick them up and finish them despite it feeling clunky to you (unless this hd thing comes out). because one thing every mgs fan will agree with me here . the games get so epic and overwhelming by the end . that you just sit and feel Oh My God . what a ride!!

not to mention the a post credit ending that further blows your mind. in other words . the gameplay . no matter how good , how bad , just doesnt matter !

the situations the small things . so damn realistic. they matter . when i played mgs2 there was no other game i knew (or could imagine) which gave a delay in a bullet reaching its target . (all the games have bullets being more or less at extreme speed of light kind of speeds) . but in mgs2 . you can just see a half second delay in bullet reaching your enemies head , or say a lamp .

in mgs3 there is a boss. you have to fight him in a jungle area. and he is invisible . those are the weird odds the mgs games throw at you out of no where. "here is an invisible enemy . fight him . use leaf movements to help you  whatever. but he is invisible :P ! ."

so i agree with your statement but believe me . mgs franchise is so big . they dont really have to touch their controls at all . hell they can simply port the three games without remastering it in non HD . and half the mgs fans will still be drooling to buy the collection.

I'm not doubting the games' design or innovation. They were brilliant. but

these HD remakes are more a way to introduce old classics to new gamers rather than being fan service. The GoW and Sly remakes succeeded at that because the gameplay still holds up. I didn't play the old Sly games and I'm loving them on the PS3 because even the first game looks good and plays well. I'm sure gameplay from the PS2 PoP games will hold up too. MGS won't.

Controls are different but not really clumsy. You get used to them, it just takes longer than other games. And the games are built around them, like RE4's 'can't walk while shooting' mechanic. If they put MGS4 like controls in 1 and 2 they'll just break the game. Same reason why people say Twin Snakes is much easier - especially boss fights are cakewalk - compared to MGS1, because they patched in first person aiming from MGS2 which was not in MGS1.
