Maximus
Amazing news. I don't think they would be making MGS1 part of the trilogy since that was on PSOne, and would be hard to HD that. I guess that it would be Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and MGS3: Snake Eater. Though, I don't care what they remake, it would be a day one purchase for me. devil_angel
@sam Thanks mate.....if it ever releases, hope the rework on it @nemo I stopped reading your post half-way throught. I thought it was getting a bit spoiler-ish
Oceans 12 Twelve
I'm not doubting the games' design or innovation. They were brilliant. but these HD remakes are more a way to introduce old classics to new gamers rather than being fan service. The GoW and Sly remakes succeeded at that because the gameplay still holds up. I didn't play the old Sly games and I'm loving them on the PS3 because even the first game looks good and plays well. I'm sure gameplay from the PS2 PoP games will hold up too. MGS won't. ok i can agree with you on that . but hey . im speaking to you here and not having a debate on how good their decision is on the mgs things . coz i just couldnt bear hearing that you played mgs and did not finish them . trust me . when you get time . finish them like an unfinished business. HD or originals! just finish them

Why would they have two same games , MGS 2 Substance is a better version of MGS 2 Sons of Liberty , as Praveer said earlier it might be Twin Snakes of the Gamecube version. (substance = sons of liberty + extra blah blah ) so if its a trilogy . mgs1 has to be there .

HundredProofSam
I don't think they would be making MGS1 part of the trilogy since that was on PSOne, and would be hard to HD that. They can use the Gamecube code, I guess. They'll have to remove the Mario plushies though. Maybe replace them with Sackboy.

Hey, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance was a completely different game than Sons of Liberty. It wasn't as popular but it was a direct sequel to it releasing more than 2 years later. It would be amazing to have MGS1 in the pack but highly unlikely.
praveer
Movement in MGS was always spot on ! Controls are different but not clunky...simply different. Also MGS3 controlled EXACTLY like MGS2 (except the new CQC mechanics). MGS2 and MGS3 will still hold up flawlessly in this day and age as far as gameplay is concerned. I actually like the scripted camera in MGS3:Snake Eater over the TPS camera in Subsistence. Hey, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance was a completely different game than Sons of Liberty. It wasn't as popular but it was a direct sequel to it releasing more than 2 years later. lol ? Substance was a re-release of MGS2 with extra contents for the Xbox and PC. Bulovski
Pretty sure they will put MGS1 in the trilogy. Otherwise the series won't make sense.

praveer
Are people even 'doubting' that they may not release MGS1 ? How can it be a trilogy if it only includes 2 games (MGS2/MGS3)
Nemo
i like the original semi isometric controls. Personally i feel they are the best for the game as it gives you ample ways to go by your business stealthy.
