I know what you're saying but I'm impatient by nature. I play like i read novels. If I pick up a novel I normally leave it for weekends and read continuously starting Friday late night all the way till 6 - 7 am Saturday. Go to sleep and resume Saturday night and its mostly done by Sunday morning. I mostly game the same way with engrossing story based games.

Btw resistance burning skies is going for 1100rs on Amazon India right now if anyone's interested. Mrp is 2500rs everywhere else. Sony has already mentioned that it will never be an IGC title due to some region issues.

Reviews were bad for that game but some user reviews are good, only get it if you are a huge resistance fan.

Maine kar di order. Heard the shooting is better than cod vita but worse than kzm. It's the last resistance game ever as well. Also only 1 copy left right now.

Yeah, a ton of Vita players on my list have played and enjoyed it a lot. Obviously it's gonna feel weak now since I've played kzm but still I don't mind playing an avg resistance game anyway. Have so many epic memories with the series. R2 was my first MP shooter. Resistance retribution my first psp game :P

I'm playing Burning Skies right now and yeah, I don't understand the hate for the game.

Yes, KZ:M is much better than this but it's not too bad either. A decent FPS is what I'll call it.

I think the main reason for the hate is that it was on the Vita and Sony selling the device as a console experience. Everyone kind of compared all vita ports to full blown console games. This is just an assumption since I haven't played it but I've heard a lot of people liked it. Sometimes reviews really screw a game over but you can also blame sony for this.

Can't comment on resistance since I am yet to play it but the vita games are fking amazing and hold their own even if you compare them to the series' console games. Uncharted GA felt as awesome as UC1, ucga2 on the levels of uc2/uc3 could have been a possibility but sadly Sony won't let that happen anymore. Kzm is 2nd to only kz2 and has a better gunplay and MP than 90% of console shooters out there.

It's amazing how fking awesome Vita games can be if proper time and money is put into their development.

Agreed 100% mate.

Problem is most people are just too encumbered with looking at how well a game was reviewed rather than accepting the game on its own merits.

And on another note KZ2 mate. That's a f**king well made game and my heart bleeds when I think about how Guerrilla took Killzone and turned it into a generic shooter with KZ3. Loved the weight of the guns and the kickass mp. Warzone FTW. And of course Mael Radec :good:

KZM is by far one of the best shooters even with some of its MP errors.

Jungle Rumbles on to Vita soon

Developer Disco Pixel has announced that they are bringing Jungle Rumble: Freedom, Happiness, and Bananas, a touch-based rhythm game over to the PS Vita very soon.

Jungle-Rumble700.jpg

Jungle Rumble, which is currently available on iOS, features two tribes of monkeys who inexplicably find themselves at war with each. Players will use the Vita’s touchscreen to drum to the beat of the music in order to control the monkeys. Tap on a monkey and then tap on a tree to get the monkey to start climbing. Or tap a monkey, tap a coconut, and tap a rival monkey to hurl the projectile at him. But it all needs to be done to the rhythm of the jungle. As the action intensifies, the music gets crazier and more chaotic until a mistake is made, and it all goes silent.

Sony insists Vita is here to stay

But don't expect games like Uncharted or Killzone again.

You'd be forgiven for thinking Sony had given up on the Vita - at least in the west - after its no-show at the company's major press conferences this year. But according to Sony's UK boss the handheld console is here to stay. Vita went on sale in Europe in February 2012 and ever since has failed to set tills alight. But Sony has repositioned the console in a bid to make a modest amount of money out of a new-found niche of indie titles, ports and games aimed at younger players. In an interview with Eurogamer, Sony UK chief Fergal Gara admitted the Vita doesn't sell anywhere near as well as the PlayStation 4, for example, but he said he was encouraged by how "robust and consistent" the sales were.

"It's trucking along," he said. "It's currently in year-on-year growth and enjoying a healthy year, and it's about to hit its biggest and potentially most powerful release of the year, which is Minecraft. That could be an extraordinary release for Vita. "We're seeing a bit of reflected glory from PS4. So there is a traction in remote play, and we see the numbers there. But it's more than that. It's just found its niche. It's not the biggest niche in the world, and we've been fairly open about talking about it entered a crowded landscape with many other devices providing some sort of handheld fulfilment. But for those who want that more specialist device and a more specialist experience, it does a damn good job, and therefore it trucks along quite nicely."

Vita launched alongside a promise to provide a home console quality experience on the go. But the strategy failed, with £30 games such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Killzone: Mercenary struggling to make an impression on a market flooded with cheap titles for smartphones. So Sony repositioned the handheld to focus on smaller games, an initiative spearheaded by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Shahid Ahmad, as well as games aimed at younger players. And it's a strategy that's helping keep Vita afloat. Will Sony release the likes of Uncharted or Killzone on Vita ever again? Probably not, Gara said. "But what we are excited by is the number of games we can take to the platform that have been created for other platforms.

"Minecraft is a classic example. We've got Lego Batman 3 coming to Vita as well as PS4 and PS3. The multitude of digital titles that are proving attractive on the console, and the fact it is a substantially digital device - a big chunk of the sales come direct from the store to the device - the multitude of titles in the indie sector in particular we've done a lot of work with has proven popular, both in terms of affordability and their quirky nature, which seems to suit many of the consumers who are buying Vita. And also a bunch of younger gamer titles, which is another substantial niche.

"We've done great numbers through the summer. You may have seen our TV campaign focused on younger gamers around the Lego titles. There's a nod to Minecraft in there and LittleBigPlanet. It's proved successful."

As you'd expect, for Sony the priority this Christmas is the PS4, which recently hit the one million sales mark in the UK alone (it's shifted 10m units worldwide since going on sale in November 2013).

But Gara said Vita also had a role to play over the coming months. On 26th September Sony will release a Vita bundled with FIFA 15 for €199.99. We wouldn't be surprised if Sony goes big on Minecraft, too, when it's eventually released.

"We will certainly not be ignoring it this Christmas," Gara said. "We're very pleased with how it continues to sell, and look forward to another big, seasonal spike at Christmas. Its sales profile has over the last couple of years proven to be far more seasonal than, say PS3, and how PS4 will behave once we have another year under our belts. "There's a perception that it's fading away. I can absolutely assure you that that's not happening. It's proving remarkably resilient. We enter the peak season very optimistic about hitting similar or bigger numbers to last year. So we feel in good shape."

with no hopes of a kz/uncharted on this console; i guess it's utility is as good as over for me :/

I'm gutted by that as well but there's a whole bunch of other stuff I've discovered that I probably wouldn't touch anywhere else. Still Sony marketed it as a fullblown portable PS3 and let everyone including themselves down. Awesome piece of tech, shoddy promotion and gems no one wants to talk about. Definitely the last Sony portable and its a good thing.

+1 man. Psp could be described as a mini ps2 but calling the vita a mini ps3 is like insulting it tbh. I've played so many unique games in my 1yr with the console (Nov 10th would be my vita 1st birthday).

Anyway Sony itself is pretty much done with the vita. Hopefully Japanese devs will keep things alive for a couple of yrs. It will always be my preferred platform for indie games (all of which are ps4/vita cross buy these days) and RPGs (through remote play) though.

Might get that xperia tablet for the remote play stuff if it's as smooth as vita remote play.
