If you got yourself the Xbox 360 Slim 4 gig version only to find out how evil Microsoft can be..

1. You cant play some multiplayer games/halo firefight/co op using the 4 gig on board memory :pwnt:

2. Wanted to expand for downloads & probably looked everywhere by now and figured its not available in India & considering shipping from US

Well I've got good news for you! You can actually use the old Xbox HDD and put it in your slim - This works for sure & the HDD gets recognized as an original 'Microsoft Device' !

Steps are simple: (will update pics/video later)

1. Use screwdriver to open up the outer casing of the old HDD - beware, the fourth screw is under the hologram - trying to force open the case without opening this screw will break ur casing..

2. Use screwdriver again to open the inner casing..

3. Detach the hard disk connector & slide it out

4. Open the HDD case for the slim and now U've only got to match the male/female - use a torch to see which side goes where..there is only one possible way so it shouldn't be a challenge..

5. Getting the right angle is a bit of a 'feels right' thing lol coz it does not fit & then go in further..it just fits & goes no further..but u will know once its in

6. I used electric tape to keep it in place  ..no issues now whether u keep ur console vertically or horizontally..

You should be all set now! No banhammer worries coz its original MS device in the first place..

Let me know if anyone has any more questions..I ll try to upload pics when I get a chance..
