kushalrocks
Mystery Solved Earlier this week, a website called FindMakarov.com surfaced, bearing little more than a week-long countdown clock in Modern Warfare 2 font and a faint image of Vladimir Makarov, an enemy that escaped at the end of said game. Instead of claiming it as part of an elaborate AR campaign for the next Modern Warfare title, Activision responded in the opposite way: they stated, rather bluntly, that there would be NO Modern Warfare 3 announcement yet, and that "Anything indicating otherwise is a hoax." Harsh. However! Geoff Keighley of GTTV found out what's really going on with the countdown. FindMakarov.com is actually a creation of We Can Pretend, a Toronto, Canada-based creative collective that is expected to debut a Modern Warfare 2-inspired, live-action short film on March 2. It's a self-funded project that apparently took both Activision and the world by surprise. Production sources that worked on the project referred to it as "visually spectacular." Below you can see the first image from a person apparently associated with the project; he emailed Geoff Keighley after the story was broken earlier. Gamers will recognize the soldier as Ghost from Modern Warfare 2, fully geared up. Is a fan film what you were expecting when you first saw the countdown? How about when you first heard it was a hoax? With all this hype now, it had better be good... Luckily, we only have about two more days left to wait. http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/84320/modern-warfare-hoax-countdown-mystery-solved/
