1. I use a soft cloth preferably the ones used for lcd tv's.

2. Gently wipe it otherwise the smallest pressure will scratch it.

3. Don't clean the vents but only the surface part of it.

4. I'm guessing you're asking the sd card slots. If it is, then #1 answers your question.

5. No. It's advisable to wait a good 30 mins or so before covering it.

6. You can't ;) Although the latest SKU's seem to be have a mat finish which makes them scratch resistant.

love all the questions...

but some of my exp....

i bought the console in Nov 2006 being one of the early adapters and i have NEVER covered the PS3 till date.

Cleaned it from Inside once but that is pretty much irrelevant WHY...cos the black cover that you see on PS3 is just a slide through PLate there is more protection inside. The PSU and the Drive are all covered with aluminium cases inside...

Scratches if you are sc ared get a Decal Gal skil but i have never thought about that too...Black is how it looks best...

So basically all i want to say is just keep normal care of the console and nothing out of the world...It is a sturdy and well built machine :)

^^ Does any1 use a Filter mesh, or something on the intake of the PS3, to keep out the dust?..

How dusty was your PS3's inside when you opened it up AtheK?..

Btw, If your concerned about your PS3 getting scratches... http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zt-49-en-70-24qf.html

Also, found some Dust Filters on Play Asia as well.. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zt-49-en-70-2nvu.html

Found some cute dust caps too http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zt-49-en-70-1ugo.html ..

Worth it?

buddy as Athek said there will be minimum dust inside PS3 as all the inside components are completely covered.

And i think have the dust caps and the skin guard.

but i dont think the dust filters will make any difference.

Not much Dude....and seriously guys dont be so tense just play and dont cover those vents those are required for heat to escape by doing that you will be doing more damage to your console then doing good to it...

Just keep it the way it is....put a normal cloth over it after you are done playing if you are so protective about your PS3. But do that like after 15-20 mins of you have stopped playing.
