Scratches are inevitable i think. What ever precautions you take to clean it they become more and more prominent.

I've installed a decall skin on it.. now its safe.. n looks gr8

i keep it wrapped all the time..

Guys I was on youtube, and found out this very interesting video for cleaning the internal fan of ps3 .

But before giving out this video and link let me warn you that this might also ruin your hardware. Do it at your own risk!

I tried out on mine and it happened the way it was shown in the video. BTW its only for 40gb model. Anyone else here who has done this ???:-

Hi,

I would like to know how u people Maintain ur PS3.

Cleaning.

1. What materials do u use?

2. How do u clean the external surface?

3. How do u clean the Vents??

4. How do u Clean the Inner area?

5. Do u cover ur PS3 When not in use? After how much time do u cover it after playin it.?

6. How to avoid Scratches.

Answers to these question may help me and other GI members.

1. small microfiber cloth

2. wipe it with the cloth very gently (but still have many scratches)

3. use a 1000 watt handheld vacuum cleaner

4. by inner area i think u mean usb ports n other ports n all.. clean them using vacuum cleaner

5. yes, usually i cover it after 10 mins

6. i dont think so anyone can avoid scratches, the amount of dust it collects needs to be wiped off n when one wipes it off it leaves 1 or 2 minor scratches behind no matter what cloth u use.
