i think performance issues might be an ati feature. i'm not having any slowdowns while playing.

the game itself is kind of boring me. the main story is basically a tutorial for all the different kinds of activities you can do in the game, and i'm finding about half of them to be quite mundane and i'm just going through the motions. i already do not want to repeat them after one go, so i don't really know where the fun is hiding in the game :\

I was feeling the same, but completed mission 14 and that is one of the most awesome and fun missions I have ever played. Catchy music, crazy action, total summer popcorn action movie stuff.

And now, I just started getting crazy weapons, tip of the iceberg really.

EDIT: And you can install Nitros in Bikes too. Woooooohooooooo

Try the assassination missions. They can be fun with other Hitmen also after the same target. Vehicle delivery are worthless, you get very less money thanks to banged up car which is a result of 2 star rating as soon as you steal it.

I am very very impressed with the amount of customization options, there are soooooo many different outfits and combinations to dress up your character, its staggering. And most of them look very cool.

And the garage is awesome as well, you can customize them thoroughly like NFS games (Underground and MW, not later ones). And adding them to your garage is fun, just steal one and repair/modify it in your garage, it gets stored forever. Then you can just ask for their delivery anywhere via your phone.

I guess they have nailed the enjoyment aspect of open world games right in the head. There is very little that comes in the way of your enjoyment.

I opened up two new activities. One is Insurance and other is Trail Blazing. Insurance is like Burnout Crash mode, but here its you instead of car in Burnout. You just crash yourself on the road like a ragdoll. Can be entertaining for some.

Second one is Trail Blazing, here there are two types: One is like Tron and its boring, other is inside the real city and its FUN. Basically you are all dressed up in Fireproof dress, and you are on an ATV, which when touched with any vehicle/Person, sets them on fire. You start with 15 seconds IIRC, and you need to pass through checkpoints. But the time is very less, so you have to run over people/crash vehicles which earns you time and you can prevent the time from reaching 0. Its awesome and the amount of mayhem it creates is incredible.

DF Analysis is out:

Saints Row: The Third also represents a large graphical improvement over the second game in the series. The change in art direction in this latest instalment in combination with more restrained use of normal mapping and specular highlighting on some surfaces creates a more realistic look to the environments. A closer look at the texturing also reveals quite a bit of subtle detailing in many places: the small cracks that appear on the road and pavements, and the degradations manifesting on the walls of old buildings found throughout Steelport.

Other areas have also seen similar upgrades: animation is smoother and flows together better than in the previous game, and there's a noticeable increase in the amount of post-processing effects in play, particularly in the more heated cut-scenes, where screen distortion effects and motion blur can be quite prevalent.

Saints Row: The Third renders in native 720p on both platforms and the difference is night and day compared to its 640p predecessor: as you would expect from such a leap, presentation is much, much sharper. The anti-aliasing set-up remains as it did in Saints Row 2: multi-sample anti-aliasing (MSAA) is present on the 360 with quincunx (QAA) being used on the PS3.

So DF acknowledges the graphics improvements which I observed. Native 720p improves the overall look. It looks and runs great.

Its awesome. I haven't even unlocked the crazy weapons and vehicles yet. Completed only around 20 story missions and clocked in around 9 hrs already.

The whored mode is damn fun as well.

Also, to new guys, Sprint towards the people and press one of the attack buttons when near them to pull off those amazing moves shown in trailers (tornado DDT etc)

One more, sprint and press vehicle enter/exit button when near the people, and you will tackle them (like Spear move in WWE) and take them as human shield.

Pressing R3 on PS3 hits people in the nuts :D

Well after updating my drivers and fiddling around with some of the settings the game is running well now. However I'm still not having as much fun as I had hoped. Yes it has all the elements for it but I guess it has something do with me playing this alongside Skyrim. I'm constantly thinking about "I need to raise my smithing so I can craft Dragonplate armor" or "I need to explore that ruin near Windhelm" while I'm kicking people in the nuts :|

I'm afraid I'm being unfair to this game.
