Angry Birds dev thinks console games are 'dying'

Recommended Posts

Maybe he didn't get any sells from PSN version? Its kinda hard to sell your shovelware in a store full of real games.

Yeah .

Similar to Super meat boy devs blaming Microsoft for their low sales

Angry Birds is the most over-rated game .

^^ Please don't get it for the PS3. Looks horrendous. All stretched up (as it's a PSN mini).

No fun playing with a controller. More suited for touch screens IMO.

I bought it.. and played in 42" screen :fear:

I actually found out about Crush the Castle purely after I tried Angry birds on my Dad's Wildfire (which I won and gave to him actually :fear: ). Then went about searching for some game like Angry birds when I finally chanced upon Crush the Castle. :D

it worked on your wildfire??, it did not work on my wildfire, i had to borrow my friends cell to play it.

I don't like the circling hypocrisy here. Flaming casual games just cause you don't play them? Just like casual game devs flame AAA industry for no innovation.

I think we all are missing the point, I completely agree with him when he says "Mobile developers are more nimble". It has more to do with agile/rapid prototyping than anything else. Constantly looking at the development loop and improving it is the way to go ahead.

It doesn't happen in the AAA industry but Valve pulled it off with TF2,even a small team from That Game Company made 8 different prototypes of flower before shipping anything out.

The Wildfire was the first phone I ever played Angry Birds on. Gave it to my Dad as a gift. Then kept borrowing it and playing angry birds now and then. It wasn't as smooth as it is on my Nexus S, but then it wasn't a slideshow like some people have said either.

I think they recently released a new one called Angry Birds Rio and it's already topping the charts  I won't say the game is bad but there are so may better games on the apps store who regularly get free levels as updates. Thses guys are releasing the same stuff again and again while also charging for it.
