"My finger-pointing at Microsoft/Sony would really be on the memory side," said Crytek's principal graphics engineer Tiago Sousa while discussing with Eurogamer the problems the team encountered when developing Crysis 2 for console. "It's way too low, and the biggest crippling factor from a visual perspective. spindoctor Posted April 18, 2011 Report Share Posted April 18, 2011 They never gonna put 8gb in their consoles..No way..they will go for 1GB XDR Max....which is quite enough..imo XDR Ram is way more faster and powerful than DDR5 Ram speed is only one part of the equation. capacity is the other. a ferrari might be faster than a jeep, but what are you going to do when you need to get 8 people from one place to another? they can't all fit in the ferrari can they? 1gb ram will mean another full generation of upscaled 720p "high definition" games with shittastic texture quality, jaggies, blur, texture streaming and tiny levels.
