Hey Guys, i purchased a Huawei ADSL Router (Model No. WA1003A) which is lying unused from couple of months. So i wanted to know that is it possible to connect it with PS3 without inserting the Ethernet cable in PS3 ?

hey ,

i use a similiar setup to play my ps3 online and thought i can give you some tips,

first of all enabe dhcp server otherwise your ps3 ip(local) will change everytime you connect the ps3 to the router and/or any other device to the router and it will become very difficult to port-forward

also open your dmz only when your playing to the ps3 ip..

then do the normail port-forwarding and you should be fine

also when using protection use wep + wsk (or something similiar) thats the only thing ps3 properly recognizes and exchanges the protection key properly

hope i made some sense

regards

1. Connect this router to a PC/laptop using a LAN cable (make sure you set your computer to take IP address automatically).

2. Open a browser and point to 192.168.1.1

3. The username/password should be given in the manual or on the router.

5. Enable WiFi and give a new password for Wifi security of either type WEP or WPA/PSK.

6. In your PS3, change network settings to wireless and give the password as above, choosing the same type (either WEP or WPA/PSK).

Done, test your connection.
