Ne0
I had international roaming activated on my Vodafone post-paid and it never worked. I'm currently in S.Korea, and even I'm having the same issue. The call center guy told me vodafone works perfectly well here....but no. I had similar problem with vodafone when i went to maldives a couple of years back. I think vodafone has some problems with international roaming. hammerhead
I had airtel when I landed and used it for an entire month and it worked quite good. Just had to call them up to have it activated and asked them how calls to India would be made.

Korea has 3G based on WCDMA technology (pretty much like Verizon in the US). So if your phone doesn't support that band, it will not work. megzworld
Oh Vodafone. Vodafone left me 'network less' last New year when I was in Middle East. It was so embarrassing to not being able to wish friend sand family on the New Years. Vodafone roaming didn't work even in Hongkong. Something, you should just not rely upon. But I had asked the CC guy in India if my phone will work in korea since its GSM only. The guy checked my model etc and said as per his db info it should work. But only after I came here I realized, it does not
ctrl_alt_del
Well, my Nokia E63 handset did not work while I was on Vodafone International Roaming when I landed in US. But the same phone ran perfectly fine with an ATT SIM in it. So I blame Vodafone.

in-fi-ni-ty
guys i am going to LA via singapore and tokyo. what can i get cheaper at these airports? i am looking to get a DSLR. can i get it cheaper at any of these places? also what else can i get at tokyo airport? where should i look at for fares. i saw ebay japan but a d5100 is around 750 dollars and its almost the same in US
winny29
You wont find anything cheap in tokyo! I mean anything. You can try singapore but i don't think the airport prices will be able to beat street/online prices in the US. US is the cheapest for any kind of electronics. Try amazon or best buy. Amazon is running a pretty good offer on T3i/600d and T2i/550d. Edited December 28, 2011 by winny29

I absolutely hate those long flights. I was in your neighborhood (L.A.) while you were in Vegas. My flight was an absolute terror; lot of air-turbulence. Our plane rotated 90 degrees for almost 3-4 seconds. For the next few months, I am just going to drive.
