Oh, okay. You can still keep your luggage in storage spaces at carriage ends. They have combination locks. The last seats have a bit of space to keep large bags too. There’s really not much to worry about. As most travel experiences to Japan will tell you, you won’t lose anything in Japan ?

Also how big a bag will you be carrying on a work trip bird?

Did you use the Takkyubin service ?

No, the couple of times we did need to, a taxi was coming out to be less/as costly and more timely.

Edit: we did use 24 hr coin lockers quite a bit. They’re awesome when you’re out and about, specially for a late night out.

Guys what is a reliable n economical site to book flight tickets. Got into a lot of pain with Cleartrip last time, not going that route again.

Skyscanner is a consolidator it will show you the rates across various websites and then you can take a pick which you think is reliable and has the lowest price. If you want zero hassles it is always best to book direct with the airlines.

I booked with Paytm AND MMT. Never had problems before. Whatever is cheaper and has offers, I book. What kind of problems you faced?

^ Prices that i paid for tickets were much cheaper elsewhere, the hotel that i booked refused to accommodate at 11pm in the night.....I was stranded with family at that hour and Cleartrip was horrible, no support from their side, had already paid so was stuck.

I searched via Skyscanner like SuperT suggested and then booked from the airline page directly this time.

Thanks for the heads up! Gonna avoid Cleartrip most probably!

I find that nowadays hotels give the best rates on their sites vs aggregators. Many a times flights too are best prices on airline site vs aggregators.

Plus if you're unable to make a trip, booking via hotel directly generally allows them to give you credit for future stay (happened with us recently).

I feel the same, it's better to scout deals on aggregators and then buy directly from the airline/hotel. Learnt this the hard way.

I searched Skyscanner, shows cheap rate but many at times on opening it increases and some are unheard sites.

Eventually booked from Paytm for both ways, was cheaper or at least equal most of the time.

I have 4 days in srinagar, apart from the trek.

Looking to Rap up gulmarg and pehelgam as well, must visit places and

Any suggestions in food places ?

Kashmir food mostly.

Day 1 Gulmarg. Day 2 Pahalgam. Day 3 entire Srinagar especially Shikara. Srinagar has some decent forts as well, so that will take entire day.

There is Sonmarg as well, I couldn't go there because I stayed 3 days only but heard good things about it. I went in winter when it was covered with snow but now it is summer, so things must be very different. Probably there's lot of greenery there.

Yes, i have checked gulmarg and pahalgam on the list.

What stuff do you recommend there ?

Sonmarg has the 7 day trek in between it, so forts would skip as would already be tired.

Going June 29th to July 10th, so monsoon.

No idea on trek. I went there as a normal tourist with my wife. Did Gandola and pony ride and all.

I will be going to Singapore for 4 days in the 1st week of September with my wife. It will be our first time there. Where should we be looking to stay and any suggestions for decent hotels in that area? Budget per night will be around 8-10K per night

Little India has hotels with Indian breakfast options and Indian cuisine restaurants. Have a look there.

Not necessarily looking for Indian food options. We are there for 4 days, prefer local food.

Unfortunately that budget will allow pretty small rooms in most self service hotels at Singapore, unless you're willing to stay at or near Little India, where you can find semi decent rooms at that price.

Did you search Airbnb ? I've them to be decent so far.

If you want just a crash pad, look at hotels like Jayleen Clarke or Yotel. These are barebone hotels though. A bed, AC, and just enough space to open your luggage. Also relatively central compared to Little India.

You can also get Jen Singapore by Shangri-La at around 50% extra vs your preferred price. All major brands are 20k+ otherwise.

Singapore has great public transport options, so choose a place near a metro or bus station.
