I did bath though at the freezing lake once. (Not recommended) Potty at the side where catholes are dug inside a small tent. GunnerY2J
Also visited Srinagar and gulmarg. Gandola ride was way overrated, huge lines just for getting on the cable car and even for getting down. And really there wasn't anything good to see. Shikara ride at Srinagar was very nice. The boat man was very friendly and gave us a long slow route and even let me ride the shikara which was very tough. Kashmiri food I didn't like much. Their meat was not tender at all, very hard, huge and chewy meat, lacked flavour as well. Kashmiri people are very friendly and really proud at the same time. They ll help you and treat you as a guest always but always be defensive about things (food, culture, politics, people, money) as well. Then that would be a different story. I went in December and found to be the best place to enjoy thick snow. Yeah, the huge lines suck! Can kill the mood easily. Kahmiri people indeed are very nice, was quite surprised by their hospitality and it seems they genuinely care about growth of tourism there as I see it is their main bread and butter. Although slightly expensive like all tourist places, ones you fix any rate with them, then they give you full honest service.

So true. After rate is fixed, they give their full service and even more than what was agreed. Yes, visited few days ago..

Huge muscle/weight loss of 5 kgs as well in the 7 days of trek. Had trouble sleeping at night, claustrophobia in the small tent and sleeping bag, but other than that Felt easy to me physically except the last day which had mostly descent throughout, that was the only day my knees were feeling it. Nice hybrid and a very beautiful scenic trek which had all of it : Rains, muddy paths, mountains, snow, streams, open meadows, stony paths, beautiful lakes and forests. I find this the cheapest form of travel/vacation if one is fit, really therapeutic and detachment from reality. Only if the food served was better. Also, started hailing at the peak point of the trek and don't know whenever it starts raining my inner child wants to get shirtless, so managed to snap a pic as well. Also, credits to @eddy4823 From whom I got to know about this trek and some help as well. Couldn't join you due to some personal issues which need to be sorted. Glad you enjoyed. We'll plan something soon.

Last trek which I did had -20 at a base camp. Some treks like Valley of Flowers have hotels/homestays where you can take a bath but only 1 out of 20 people take a bath because of cold weather. dante77
Lot of my leaves are still remaining and I have still this remaining year to go somewhere. Any good abroad cheap or India decent location? Last year suggestions were good regarding Goa. We stayed at shack in Palolem. Again looking for some non hilly areas as the reads that lead there make me car sick a lot. That's extreme north of Vietnam. If you are up for a bike trip for 2-3 days like Leh - Ladakh. Do it. Sea and Beaches are perfect at Da Nang. (Central Vietnam). That's a proper urban settlement. Bird Bird Bird
Anybody has experience with Air Canada ? I need to travel from DEL to Fort Lauderdale, but unsure if it's a good idea to directly go to FLL or land at Miami. FLL flights generally have 2 stops except Air Canada, but my Candian folks have shared not so great stories about lost luggage etc with Air Canada. Other option is to fly via British Airways/American (via Heathrow) to Miami. Any suggestions ?

KunjanPSD
58 minutes ago, Bird Bird Bird said: Business Take AC. Baggage issues are there across each continent and carrier. Do check the flight equipment before you book, try to get a flight on their latest J product. AC J is quite good. Not sure if this is direct or not but direct will have the lowest probability of baggage being messed up because no transition of planes, even otherwise I would take AC J easily. Layovers are only for experiencing a good biz lounge.
