So I'm on the verge of booking tickets for a trip to Thailand with the boys.

Now on makemytrip - there is the mmtbiz (or corporate bookings) section. if I use my work email there, it automatically populates company and GST number.

Its saving me a 1000 bucks each way on the booking. Will this get me in trouble or can I do this? Pls help if someone knows.

Do not do that!

You will have to pay it eventually.

Hey guys,

Anyone who's been to Japan, what's the best month to visit?

How many days are good enough? (I'm thinking one week)

Also, is it worth getting the Rail Pass for $350?

Jan to April, October to Dec

one week is enough for tokyo and a few side areas

rail pass will only make sense if you are taking the Shinkansen multiple times and to various cities. Use the jrpass calculator to see if it’s worth it for your itinerary

Apart from the main cities, I will also suggest to go to some regional areas.

Japan is great year round, so first check your availability. I am going next month.
If availability is not an issue, then Dec-Jan if you like winter and snow, Feb-April if you like spring, skip first week of May and Aug-Oct for the fall colors.

Japan is vast and there is literally so much to explore and see that even 1 month is not enough. I am going for 16 days.
In 1 week, I think you might only be able to hit Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto at the surface level because of travel being involved. You won't have time for regional areas.
I would recommend to restrict yourself to Tokyo and Osaka only.

As for the rail pass, depends on you. 1 Shinkansen ticket generally costs around 4-5k, assuming you take 2 of these and rest as local commute, the pass won't be worth it.

Awesome!
Enjoy your trip and do share your experience later.

I’ll be going in October as it seems to be the only month I’ll get time. And the fall colors sounds perfect.
And I’ll try stretching it to 10-12 to possibly add Miyajima and Hiroshima.

2 weeks is a good enough time to do most things

I hit the Tokyo-Osaka-Hiroshima/Miyajima route and it was amazing. Also went to Nara. This was in Oct Last year

I am planning to apply for Brazil Visa next week. Any points or tips based on experience?

Went to Chile and Peru, including Machu Picchu, last month. Amazing place. Now, want to travel to Argentina, Brazil and Japan in October. :D

A lot of developments since then. Got 5 yr visa for Japan and Brazil, and ETA for Argentina.

It's not hard. I got 5yr as well but now things might vary as they have moved to e-visa regulations even though they still issue a sticker.

I applied recently.

Currently the e-visa issuance is suspended due to some technical issues (that’s what they told me in Hyderabad).

They said most likely it’ll be a sticker but they can’t say for sure as it will depend on the embassy.
