Got my Japan E-visa (30 days, single entry)

Planning for a 3-week trip in November.

Anyone who’s been to japan before, please share the ideal places to cover in 3 weeks.
I want to have a slow and relaxed vacation.

P.S:

I mentioned on the cover letter requesting for multiple entry, but sadly the VFS guys filed the application under the E-visa category and they are only for single entry.

Tokyo (2) - Hakone (1) - Kanazawa (2) - Takayama (2) - Kyoto (3) - Osaka (3) - Hiroshima (2) - Tokyo (3)

- You can add specific days for Miyajima or Nikko, or can increase days in Hakone/Kanazawa.

After doing the golden route, Hiroshima, Sendai and Tashirojima for the cat island.

Also looking to add Nakasendo trail from Magome to Tsumago.

Thanks. Looks good!

I might take a day off from Tokyo and add Sendai and cat island.

Also, one day for Fuji - kawaguchiko area.

Looking to avail LTC later this year to either J&K, North East or Andaman. Any suggestions? Best times to visit?

For NE, consider Sikkim - especially North Sikkim.

Best time to visit would be November and December. You will find snow in the upper reaches.

For Kashmir, November and December will be mostly dry and cold.
Jan and Feb are good months for snowfall.

I have already been to Jammu and Kashmir last year, so not planning for that right now, maybe next year.

Sikkim sounds good. I was considering Meghalaya at first. Does Sikkim require ILP? If so how to get it?

What about Andaman?

Yes, North Sikkim needs ILP as it borders China. It can be applied only by tour agents/taxi drivers. They will arrange it for you.

North Sikkim is very extreme tho. But it’s worth the effort because it’s easily the most underrated part of India.

Rivals Ladakh easily, with less people.

There’s usually the 3-4 day’s itinerary most people do.
Lachen, Lachung, Gurudogmar Lake - which is one of the highest lakes in the world at 18000 ft (very difficult to reach through rough terrain).

  • 2 weeks later...

Has anyone been to UK recently?

Trying to gauge if I need to carry cash and if yes then how much.

Mostly I like to stick to CC only.

Will be traveling to England, Scotland and Ireland (including Belfast which uses Euros).

That's what I thought as well. Even for tubes, tap on CC and Samsung Pay works great.

Won't take much cash then, thanks.

Just a tip or you might be knowing this ,have a separate credit card for everyone in your group. You can't tap the same CC twice in the Tube, Bus .... atleast not in London

Something to consider:

You can climb Mt. Fuji and experience sunrise from the top. Need to reach base late night, the trek up also happens at night. Idea is to reach the top before sunrise, find a place to sit and wait for the sunshine to break the horizon.

My friend did this.

Looks amazing.

But I think trekking activity on Fuji is closed during late November.

Maybe will save it for next trip

Amazing. You can do something similar at Sikkim - no trekking needed but you need to get up super early and head to Hanumantok in Gangtok, and you'll see the most epic sunrise on Mt. K2.

Years ago when I was new to IVG, I suggested that in the photography thread we should put our Instagram (creative) accounts and follow each other to promote them.

Mods told me that anyone using Insta for photographs is looking for clout and if you are serious then use Flickr.

How things change, lol.
